As many of you will know, I am now the Group Scout Leader of our local Scout Group. The group has been limping along for a while with two Cubs leaders and no Scout leaders, so Scouts had to be cancelled. We now have a new executive committee and a new Scout leader and Scouts is due to start back on April 11th!

However, our hall has been left to go to rack and ruin! Me and my family have spent the past couple of months on it, and it is amazing how much better it is looking, but there are large projects which need attending to - the carpet is threadbare and tbh quite dangerous, and we also think the electrics need looking at! We have had chairs and crockery donated from freecycle and we have managed to get rid of our old piano through freecycle too!

We are in the process of setting up a fundraising committee and I have written begging letters to some small charitable trusts, but I was wondering (and I KNOW it is a large ask, as you have all been so good supporting lots of charities recently, and may well have run out of things to donate!) if anyone has any spare raffle prizes that they can throw my way!

Thanks for reading.

PM me your address and I will search some things out for you. Dh used to be a scout leader for quite a few years and, of course, dd Suzanna is one now so I really cannot refuse even if I wanted to but anything for you!

Thanks Judy. I realise that it is a big ask, cos I know that so many of us are asking for help for our charitable causes atm, but anything is greatly appreciated.

Phone Gilwell and ask them for a list of organisations that will give you a grant towards refurbishing your hut. There are loads of them!!
Fundmatching is a good way of getting free money too. I will email you with details.

On the Money Saving Expert site there is a section for charities and fundraising and there are some very useful links listed for claiming grants etc as well as lots of other good ideas for general fundraising.
