tidy all the kids toys away if the MW was coming?

I've tidy and cleaned (obviously this is done everyday, not just for the MW:cheesy:)

but would you insist all the toys were put away aswell or should she expect toys to be out?

Hopefully Ds will be in bed while she's here, but DD will still be up.

She is coming to see you not the house. Depends on how many toys are out I suppose. Obviously the kids need something to play with to occupy them or you won't have chance to chat, so as long as there are no serious tripping hazards then I wouldn't worry too much.

They're not toys their learning aids and it would be a poor enviroment for children if they weren't out. I'd leave them, but clear path to a seat for her.

WSS.

My two manage to get out nealry every toy they own in the space of about ten minutes. I'd clear some up if it looked like the bomb site it normally does :cheesy: (my house I mean, not yours!).

If the toys are normally out Id leave em out as long as you cant fall on em........... what does it matter I always say take me and my home as you find it.

the toys I kept down stairs are mostly learning aids:cheesy: they have animals, shapes, colours, numbers and social interaction, great believer in practical and fun toys, don't like pointless toys (which MIL favours), so apart from te bike and scooter, the toys can stay out.

They don't have many down stairs as I like to rotate them.

I think I'm jsut paranoid about mess since my Homestart experiance, she stopped coming coz it wasn't as clean/tidy as she would have liked, not being funny, but why did she think I qualified for help in the first place:fryingpan:, any ho, not that bad now the kids are older, I just hate telling them to tidy their toys away, turn the tv off(which will happen) and be quite, they need some thing to do!

really! wow! I had an offer of homestart help but was not together enough to take anyone up on it at the time, I am not really sure what they do, apart from go shopping with you and I can manage that with T usually!

I think she changed her mind really, but she could have just said! The nursery nurse came round just after, i think to have a look for her self, she said it was fine I mean at the time we'd only been in the house 4months, and DS was only 4month old, so of course things weren't picture perfect, but it really upset me, never been great at house work but every thing is clean, and when the kids have gone to bed, it's all tidy too. Day time is for the kids, the evening is for adults.

She kept looking around the room and asking house questions, making comments that it was quite small, how many bed rooms etc... At the moment we have 3 but as our room is 17' long with 2 windows we're spliting it into 2, not that it's any of her damn business anyway!

she's like, well this will be your third so you must know what your doing, well yes but every pg is different and I would like support if things get tough!!

aaarrrggghhhh!!!

my house is often untidy, and not really because of baby toys, also noticed when my headteacher popped round the other day (!!?) a lot of dust on some really easy to dust things in living room. But, everyone does what they can don't they and I find it hard enough staying on top of kitchen and ironing. Bathrooms usually clean and food cooked ... don't worry xx

Are you thinking of having a home birth ?- I remember my MW asking loads of questions about the house but that was she wanted to know where things were i.e. bathroom, bedroom etc

One of the workers at the nursery said she thought that kids should be a bit dirty ie. covered in paint and playdough like mine, because it showed that they were busy learning things and being kids :-) Cheered me up!
