So maybe if they were not at an angle? IS there too little detail on there for you or is it ok apart from the angle lay out?

Sorry Chris, I put no too. I will explain - I am a fuss arse and hate peel offs and don't like the shiny backing paper. I am a real fusspot though and like things plain and simple and 'just so'. I am very hard to please and I know you won't take offense! ""cutey""b

nicholamarie
24-03-2008, 10:44 PM
i think its the layout. i prefer more lined up things if that makes sense.

maybe putting the the bib and bunny next to each other then the other 2 things directly underneath.itms.

still think its good though. i'm sure there are plenty of peole who will like it.

no i so wish i could do it how i think.lol

ok take of the message for you bit, then put a bib and then a space and then maybe the baby bottle

then a little bit down put the duck under the bib and the bunny under the bottle but space it out so they are even.

hope that makes sense. i havent a clue what i am saying as i have never made a card and might look naf once you have done it but i think it has to many things all together.

try and see if you dont like it put it back to how you like it.

sorry bit bossy,

Hmm. like, say you have the card itself, then on top of that you have the slightly smaller sparkly bit, then on to of that again, have a slightly smaller plain bit of card again, then the peels offs on there, so it creates a kind of sparkly frame around the plain bit.

Does that make any sense whatsoever :cheesy:

You can see what I mean? I'm getting confused reading it back myself :hysterica

I used to make little card toppers in the same way, small bit of plain card, mount a slightly smaller sparkly bit of card/paper, then mount another smaller plain bit of card on top again, creating like 3 layers and then put a peel off or picture or something else on there, to kind of create a framing effect. Or would do it on the larger scale aswell.

chris. how sis you get on last night?did you make anymore?

Katiequiggle
25-03-2008, 02:07 PM
I said no because I make my own but really because I like the less is more type of card, I would probably only use one of those things on the card like the rabbit on a layered topper like Emma suggested. I also prefer plain card to shiny card. I think for me, shiny holographic card is great for kids b'day cards but not the sort of thing for baby cards, I prefer a more sort of delicate pretty look for baby cards. But thats only my own personal opinion and I know a lot of people who would love to recieve it.

I used to buy from this (http://www.craftcreations.co.uk/) site. Don't know if it might help you, but the prices didn't seem too bad when I used them, although Im not sure where else there is now.

Only a tad to the left - can hardly notice, and hand made cards are all bespoke, so I like little things like that, as I "proves" that its hand made ifswim

Emsickle

I'm not sure - I generally bought A4 card, cut to A5 and then folded either lengthways or widthways so bought the envelopes separately to match that (along with the bags)

OK well I think they just need tweaking. The bear one just looks a bit plain, maybe a patterned backing sheet would be better. What I think could work would be a white oval in the middle with just the larger bear in the oval. Does this make sense?

The second card - ok I like the flowers but I think maybe you should put it in the centre of the card. I think I'd prefer the silver backing to be larger than the oval and I'd get rid of the hearts. Also the best wishes doesn't work for me on the white backing I'd prefer it straight on the card. If you are worried about lining them up put a ruler on the card to help.

I feel really awful now like I'm pulling your work to pieces. Do you still love me?:kisshands:

Of course i still love ya, they are crap and Katie is gonna give me a row, cos i just remebered what she told me about shapes, oopsps sorry Katie.
Yes they are crap, teddy one is plain, how do i get an oval?? The purple one is very very tacky and cheap looking, i am going to rip them up and start again me thinks and no you aint pullign my work to bits i need the truth about them, :kisshands::kisshands::kisshands:

The first one on my post is card, the others are paper. The paper of course is much more flexible and you can wrap it around the back of the card (something I have pefected since being Quiggled lol).

When I'm at home I can post a pic of a shaker card that Kate made using card, you might like it.:kisshands:

Put the glue on the card and press the card onto the paper then you can trim it with a knife. You can cover just the front or the whole card or the way Kate showed me was just to overlap so it goes a little over the fold.

Ok card making is hard huh? So glue the card that am using to make a card, then splodge it onto the paper that i am going to use as backing yea?
So what is the card for, that you get in sets, can you use that aswell, i mean card onto card?

Oh and double sided tape works better than glue. You can use the stuff for whatever you want hun. If you're any good at cutting you could cut shapes out of it.

Shall I do a step by step photographed card session in the craft club section. I'm not saying my way is the right way and lots of others have fab cards and ideas too but you could use it to see the basic techniques to use for your own designs. Anyone else could do one too, I know that Clare is a fab card maker if she has time to photograph each stage of a card that would be great.

[QUOTE=storm35;787886]Ohhh Katie was wondering when you would be about, so i can stick it all down is it perfect?
The rest i have took to bits, i need quiggled some more, :hyper::hyper::hyper::hyper:[/QUOTEI]

I personally would move the red up a bit to about a cm from the top of the white card and use the larger white bit at the bottom can't actually see how much there is but if there is 2cm at least, I would put a greeting such as 'With Love' or 'Best Wishes' there.

Its lovely though.

I cannot see the card because the pic has been moved or deleted. :-( I just wanted to say this - how refreshing to get honest opinions!!!
