I'm in chitchat mode :xmas2:
It's Monday and I have a jam packed week once I log off (addict!).
I have a few questions/ponderings.
- How are you all doing? Busy busy busy I hope :party05:
- Do you send customers/clients Christmas cards?
- How long do you 'shut' your business for over Christmas/New Year, if any time at all?

I am stressed. Deadlines looming, working around the clock, christmas shopping to do, school uniforms to sort out, xmas cards to make and send (must send to States too and cut off date is early dec.!), too much work - not enough hours in the day.
Yes, I send xmas cards to clients. This year will send them but will do e-xmas cards instead of hard copies. Don't have time to do the other. I get loads of xmas cards from my clients too, so it's nice.
If I can get everything done by xmas, I will take a week off. Last year I had about 3 days off in total.
Daffs, when you send work to printers how do you create your PDFs? Do you use acrobat? I'm using Quark and it does have the print to PDF capability, but it creates huge file sizes. Any ideas? Have searched internet and recommendation is to get acrobat distiller but this is thousands of dollars. Would appreciate any advice. Thanks!

Hiya! I use Photoshop CS and that has a 'save as PDF' option so I use that. I've never used Quark. Do you flatten it before you convert to PDF? You can send over to me if you like and I can try to help...not sure if I can though as I don't know anything about Quark.. You are welcome to try though!

Not sure if it will help - but if you use open office (free) it also has a save as PDF option.

Hi,
Well as you know I've not been overly busy the past few weeks as I'm winding down before Christmas. If my client gets me his paperwork though I'll be extremely busy this week and next.
We do send out Christmas cards to clients - though this is the first year we have done it. We got a few last year and we thought it was nice so decided to send some out.
We aren't really shutting for Christmas - we're away from Dec 16th to 28th - but we'll still check email and reply to them - we just won't be able to do any work. :D
