OK - here's my confession - I do have another interest besides MZ!
I am a member of Soroptimist International of Great Britain & Ireland. Rather than try and explain what we are about, here's the link to our main web site and also to my Club web site.

I become President on April 16th and I need your help. I am having a Dinner in November and for my raffle, I need loads and loads of gift bags - used of course - not new. When you get your pressies for Mothering Sunday and birthdays - whether they be flowering, manly or kiddie ones, do you think you could spare me a couple please? I want to put my raffle prizes inside so nobody knows what they are getting. Just because they get a wine bag - doesn't mean there's a bottle of wine in there!!!
If you could help that would be great. I can PM or email you any details you would need. As I say I don't need them until November.
Just to give you an idea of what I am doing in my year - my theme is "Sow the seed and watch it grow....". Its based loosely on children - the subject i love most - and my speakers are on this very subject.
I am having a French Cooking Evening in Birmingham in June, a Poetry, Punch and Pudding event in the summer in someone's garden (TBA), a Ceilidh and Pig Roast in September and my Dinner in November is a Literary Dinner when a famous author will come and speak following a slap up meal. In December, I am having my Xmas Dinner with entertainment provided by no other than Miss Katherine Palk (Sarah's daughter if anyone doesn't know!!) and then a Black Country Night in March 09!
Will be doing loads of socialising and committee meetings but I am very excited because I am aiming to raise money for Tilly's Charity and also an Asthma Charity we support as a family.
Sorry for rambling - please help if you can - its only the cost of postage I am asking you to find!
Thanks all xxxxx :kisshands:

Thank you again to anyone who has offered to collect gift bags. Even though I don't need them just yet, am happy to take them off your hands to save on storage!
As for Raffle prizes, I have to provide loads throughout my year so if anyone has any unwanted goodies, send them my way!
Yvonne - you are a star - PM me if you want to have my address etc.
You MZoners are brilliant! :kisshands:

Do you make hamper baskets/bags for raffle prizes? If so go through the freebies section on MSE for sample cosmetics items you can put in them to pad them out a bit, I have just sent 3 HUGE binbags of stuff up to Chloe's old school for the Easter raffle & that's just stuff I've got since Christmas so give me a few months & I'll sort a load out for you! I bought a load of brown (but nice) gift bags from the sale in Boots - they were 10p each to get rid of them I asked how much for the lot & she said £1 - I came away with 52!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They say gorgeous on them & are really quite stylish so I'll put some of those to one side for you along with others I have as well.

Don't have any preference. Majority of guests are adults but lots of them have kiddies. Am hoping to get theme park entry tickets etc so they would cover kids.
As for gift bags as long as they are in good condition - will take anything!!!!
PM me if you want me addy! And thanks xxx:kisshands:
