View Full Version : co-sleeping and bedding
This probably sounds like a daft question, but what do you do about bedding if you co-sleep? We had dd in with us for the first few days tucked up on a pillow in between our heads, so the duvet was well below her, and of course she couldn't move. She ended up in a cot in her own room within three weeks though as the snoring was (and still is) unbelievable, but I'm considering c-s for #2. How do we all stay warm and unsmothered?

I'd be interested what other people do too. It's just too cold in our house to do the bedcovers up to your waist thing. My LO is in an attached cot as I couldn't deal with the stress of worrying about smothering him with my duvet but there are times when he sleeps snuggled up to me and then I always have one bit of me frozen.

I use a sheet under my duvet in the winter, so when kids were babies, the duvet only came to my waist and I wrapped the sheet around my back and dd warmed my front.
I've always just used our normal duvet, never bothered with getting a seperate sheet for dd to use.

Our ds2 sleeps on a v pillow in our bed we just use our duvet, we pull our pillows down the bed slighty so we can have the duvet high but only comes to waist of baby!

Iv got a big bed so have a big duvet too... We can get away with Jeevan being in the bed with us n having the duvet up on our sides, but down in the middle...
I would say to get a bigger duvet if anything... its worked for us:kisshands:

DD doesn't like the duvet at all which is not bad. She's in a warm jumper and leggings while I have the duvet on half of my body. I just wear a breastfeeding top to keep my upper half warm.

Hi,
Both our children co-slept with us and 5 yr old still comes in every night and she prefers not to have any duvet and tries to sleep on top of it. we have a Queen size and according to dh I have all the quilt but I swear it's him, lol!
When she is under the quilt though I still tend to hold the quilt lower down from her shoulders.
If it's cold I have always worn a dressing gown so I can wrap myself and my toes up totally because I hate the cold. I actually have 3, one for in the morning when I get up, one for winter nights and one for summer nights.
I did do the same though when they were small and they had their own pillow in between us or I would sleep with them tucked with my arm around them holding down the quilt.
