...NOT to buy some of these;
http://www.bluefishpromo.com/index.cfm/business/Products.Details/product_id/6004/subject/original_logobug
I have an uncontrollable urge to buy some with my web address on :hyper:.
DP says they serve no purpose other than wasting money, but I think they'd be a nice little gift for the birthday child.
So, yay or nay?

Don't be sorry - if it's a bad idea, I need to know :cheesy:. I'm on lots of post-op drugs at the moment so they may be clouding my judgement!

No get them. Put one in each party bag, they are great advertising, give them to your kids to give to school friends too.

well I *love* them and think it is a great idea (if you can afford it iyswim) to put them in the party bags. My son has a little collection of them (given away from fetes etc) and he loves them to - go for it, I would say :-)

We have recently been going around the courses offered to school leavers and they have these type of things for the kids to take away. All the kids loved them and took them away with them. Mine have quite a collection from various colleges etc, so I would say for birthdays, they would go down a treat.

Thanks ladies
I'm pretty sure kids would love them - and my original idea was to run a promotion offering a free one in each party bag for a limited period.
At the moment I put a business card in each filled mug, and put a sticker with my web address on the inside of each bag. This in itself passes the word around and is much more cost effective than the bugs, but I thought the bugs would be a great promotional tool. If ever I do fayres or something like that I may well get some done to give away.
I also thought about having my web address printed on the balloons - which DP thought was even worse!
So, I've decided to have some better labels done with my froggy logo on and web address (by Preso). These will have more impact than my current home-printed labels and will be cheaper than the bugs.
Thanks for all your input :kisshands:

Takes me back to my young enterprise days - we made zillions of them to sell to fellow pupils at school and then handwrote messages on them for people (quality hey!)

Kids do love them but not sure adults do. We collected a few at the weekend at a family day at local sports centre. Can't tell you what they promoting as didn't bother to look.

They can be great giveaways to a targeted market. I just looked at them and thinking about it. I'm exhibiting at the Bump and Baby Show in May and they could be good for then, give them out as freebies with the website on. 17p each is quite a lot for freebies on that grand a scale though.

OMG 17p if you buy 5000 or more. Definitely out of my price range then.

Oh boy, my son loves them but they drive me nuts when I find them hidden in various nooks and crannies around the house...
I think it's a great idea to put something in the bags that advertises and catches the attention but I also like the idea of doing that with something useful - like a pencil or some other sort of object that you can use...
