cured of hiv

I`ve just seen on the news that a man that tested positive for hiv tested negative 14 months later, both tests were accurate and they think his own body killed the virus itself.

This does sound wierd doesn't it, they've spent billions on trying to find a cure and someone seems to have battled it and cured themselves. Was he possibly mis-diagnosed at the start ?????

They are adamant he wasnt misdiagnosed however they have said maybe he had a very mild strain. Hopefully this could be a big breakthrough (if he agrees to tests) in find something to help combat AIDS

they have believed for some time that there are people that are immune to HIV and did tests on them perhaps he is one of them , but nice to hear something positive coming from such a horrible thing
