tomorrow (copied from an email)
Everyone apart from Nick is hung over this morning – Michelle went to a hen night last night so is worse for wear too, but unaware of the discovery about George last night. Nick is excited that he has some slight movement in one of his toes but as the others arrive, the atmosphere becomes frosty and Daniel in particular is not pleased to hear Nick’s good news.

As Nick and Michelle have a meeting, Melody bursts in to tell her the gossip about last night but trails off when she sees Nick, saying that she’ll speak to her later. At lunchtime Melody fills Michelle in. As Daniel and Jimmi have a friendly chat in Jimmi’s office, Nick arrives, prompting Daniel to leave in disgust.

Nick senses the bad vibes and Jimmi admits that the secret is out, but he won’t judge Nick. In the staff room at the end of the day, all are gossiping about Nick until he enters and admits that he made a mistake with George but they all have to be grown up and move on from this. He leaves bitterly and waits for his cab outside to see them all gawping at him from the staff room window.

Meanwhile, Matt (14) gets ready for school as his Grandma Estelle (60) shouts for him to come and get his breakfast. He hastily stuffs a packet of condoms underneath his mattress. His girlfriend Debbie (14) meets him at the bus stop and says they should skip school this morning as she has a doctors appointment and she wants him to come with her. Debbie and Matt go to see Melody, who thinks that they are being responsible, asking about contraception. She prescribes the pill but advises them to use condoms also to protect them from STIs.

Meanwhile Estelle discovers the condoms under Matt’s mattress and is horrified – calling his school to try to find him. Later she turns up at the Mill, demanding to see Joe at the same time as Matt and Debbie start to kiss in her bedroom. Estelle is clearly upset that Matt could consider having sex at this age, but Joe points out that that’s not really the issue is it? She manages to get through to Matt on his mobile and they arrange to meet at her house but he can tell from the tone of her voice that something is very wrong. At her house, Matt arrives with Debbie, who wants to hear what they have to say.

Estelle can’t say what the problem is so Joe has to intervene – telling Matt that he is HIV positive. Debbie runs off and Matt can’t get his head around the news. Joe explains that given the circumstances he’s actually very lucky – currently his own immune system is controlling the virus so he doesn’t need any medication. He’s currently as healthy as someone with the virus can be. At the Mill, Debbie arrives frantic, demanding to see Melody shouting that she has AIDS. Melody explains the testing process and that she thinks Matt will need her more than ever now. Meanwhile Estelle tells Matt that he’s had the virus since birth – from an infected blood transfusion but Joe is aware that this is a lie.

Matt figures that Estelle is ashamed of him and storms out. Joe points out that perhaps Estelle is ashamed, given that she’s lied. In the park, Debbie agrees to meet Matt and she agrees not to tell anyone else. But she doesn’t think she can see him anymore – she doesn’t know what she thinks yet. When Matt returns home Estelle decides to tell him the full truth – that his mother was a drug addict and caught HIV from a needle. Matt is devastated that his impression of his mother has been shattered but Estelle gives him a letter from his Mum that she wrote before she died. Matt breaks down and Estelle admits that she was ashamed but she’s not anymore but whatever happens she’ll always be there for him.

Crikey - someone has been busy! Any chance of Saturdays lottery numbers as well:happy72:

Inrigued by this scheduling lark, how does someone working for the bbc have details of ITV Schedules? Do they swap schedules behind the bike sheds? it so both sides don't put something good on at the same time? Or are they all really one evil enterprise who has two identities for tax reasons and so they can make us pay for a tv licence?

lol, no they liase quite often and swap schedules for the up coming few weeks so they dont clash etc, but she'll only let certain bits and bobs out, and then the stuff that has already been leaked in work by mistake etc, they quite often swap scripts as well which is how lots of things avoid having the same storylines at once, they try to make sure all weddings/funerals/births/pregnancies are spread out too, just to make it even.
