Hi all, I am a big breastfeeding fan and was so unimpressed with the breastfeeding experience news article that I had to join and say something.

It is so negative, Is it just me?

Which one do you mean? Have to say most if not almost all joiners are impressed by all the articles so sorry you feel this way.

Hello vera and welcome.

Do you mean the "breast club" article? This is one persons personal view of what it was like for her, and I think the point is she felt like a "milking machine" at the beginning - and she had to make an effort to adjust her attitude for the benefit of her baby.

I think with all the hype surrounding BF that it is easy to forget that some Mums have difficulty in doing it and they can feel like a milking machine. I feel that if you are honest about how you are feeling regarding issues about being a Mum you should be supported and given helpful advice. I to found it difficult at first, although with support from DH I managed to survive for 6 weeks. Is that all I hear some of you say - don't condem me at least I managed for 6 weeks.:party05: And I feel proud of that fact.

K8ELOU,

I agree with you totally - said much the same thing in a thread started in the Debate/Rant & Rave section about this topic.

Sorry I am not used to using the net, the article was on the home page of www.mums.net (news) heading says 'breastfeeding experience' but all three are really bad experiences, I just thought its not balanced because lots of people have little or no problems and it would put new people off

I dont know if mums.net is anything to do with mumszone but i am pretty sure I was linked to this the mumszone site

Sorry if I have made a mistake, I take it back

Hello again, Vera.

Apology accepted! Hope you stay and have a look around here ... we are all quite friendly, really!

That site, as far as I know, is not connected to Mumszone, although they do have a link to us - which is how you got here, I think.

yes thats right, I have complained to them because the article really is a pile of cr**

talks about bleeding nipples, not feeding in public and milk running out of baby's nose - and thats the one they say is positive and promotes extended breastfeeding - please complain with me, i am determined to get them to take it off, mainly because i dont want mums to read it and be put off breastfeeding

they say they will publish a positive story if I write one , so i will have a go
