ive never tried renting but have heard they can be quite good.i found a ring sling best for breast feeding though a wrap would work similar.i have also fed using a mei tai though i found it best to use a small blanket too

i probably should of said a wrap is more versatile where as a ring sling is more quick and easy to get on in a hurry,i have all 3!!

I'd agree with the ring sling as easiest to BF in I find carrying for any length of time in a ring sling too uncomfortable
for long term carryng I like my Ergo (a bit like a ruck sack) but I can't feed in this and I like my Coorie which I can feed in but my LO gets too hot in it if we're indoors.

I could feed in my ringsling, but didn't need to too often, only if we were at the swingpark with older dd and baby needed a feed.
Couldn't feed in my coorie as it wasn't adjustable.Thats the only 2 I had

I tend to recommend ring slings for most folk - unpadded for maximum adjustability, you can then tweak right across the legnth and width to get a nice tight, contoured, supportive pouch of fabric to accomodate whatever individual nursing position the mother and child prefer to adopt. Its easiest done sat down with the sling on loosly, latch baby first, then adjust the sling around them (rather than adjust the sling and put baby in IYSWIM?).
Its very much possible with other slings, but the ring sling is the safest bet for most folk...

You may find you have a sling library nearby - slingmeet as Chell posted above is your best port of call.
