Hi,
Said I'd let you all know how it went. It was a bit intimidating at first walking into a room full of suits and everyone seemed to be in groups. But a girl I know in a previous job was there and that made it easier....
Not sure if I'll get much out of it, it was more business to business type companies.
However always helps to let people know you exist.
You never know who they might talk to and they might just remember your business.
Pleased to hear it was OK. It's nice to meet some people when you work from home.

I'm not confident either (at all), but meeting people you don't know, I find it's a lot easier. You don't know what they're thinking and who knows, your product might be just what they're looking for.
I have a lot of clients that I met through seminars, networking events, etc

Actually I'm off to a Before and Beyond (Business Link) event on Wednesday, all about supplying services for the Olympic Games, as the sailing events are being held near me in Weymouth.

I'm off to my first WiRE event on Monday evening. Am looking forward to it but am VERY nervous. I think I've lost a lot of confidence since becoming a WAHM - in my previous life I was an Events Organiser for a big multinational company in the City and used to meet loads of people and do presentations to big rooms full of people all the time. But the thought of walking into a room full of successful businesswomen that I've never met before is terrifying the life out of me. Arghhhhhhhhhh

Hopefully now that you've gone to one, you'll feel more confident in going to more.
Well done on going - I'm not brave enough to go. LOL

Glad to hear everything went OK. I was thinking it was only me that was lacking in confidence but reading the above I'm not on my own.

I'm glad it went well, this sounds great!
For those that are less confident, have a look out for women only events to begin with. When I started up, Business Link were running courses for woment starting up in business.
