CSA dad hogs £77k win
By JOHN COLES
A TIGHT-FISTED dad is refusing to pay child support for his daughter — despite scooping £77,000 on the football pools.
Johnathan Horrocks, 37, admitted that — even if he had won a million — he STILL wouldn’t pay for 13-year-old Chontelle’s upkeep.
Ex-wife Gill Bridle, 43, battled for six years to get Horrocks to contribute after they split in 1996.
In May an independent tribunal ruled he had to pay six years’ arrears to the CSA, totalling £5,165.
But he refused and launched two appeals.
Both failed but the CSA ruled his 2003 Littlewoods win is not classed as income and cannot be spent on Chontelle.
Horrocks, now remarried in Tuffley, Gloucs, has put £30,000 in premium bonds and given £10,000 to his new wife.
The cabbie says he will pay the arrears but he won’t have to pay future child maintenance as he doesn’t earn enough.
Shop assistant Gill — now with new husband Mark, 38, in Stroud, Gloucs — said: “He’s tight with his ‘honeypot’.â€
Horrocks said: “If I’d won a million, it would be nothing to do with the CSA, Gill or Chontelle."
