Hiya,

Thanks for all the lovely welcomes on here :D

I've introduced myself on the main 'newbie' board but thought i should say more about myself on here!

Anyway, I'm Lyns...I'm 28 years old and I live in Westbury, Wiltshire with my boyfriend Steve, my son Dan who is 9, and Steve's two children Lewis - 9 and Callum - 5.

I'd been searching for suitable p/t work for a very long time to no avail so last year I took a book-keeping course so I could do my boyfriend's books (he's a builder) and I opened up my own webshop - pretty-thingsboutique.co.uk in November.

I never expected it to be easy at all, but found the design and the marketing harder than I thought!

Sold a few things on there but mainly have sold my items via eBay which is frustrating to say the least.

Anyway, am plodding on slowly but surely!!
And thats me! unsure of what else to say :happy72:

Hi Lyns

I said a brief hello on the other thread. I'm one of the "old timers" on here, I've been in business for 5 1/2 years now and run several websites (with at least one or two more planned). My "main" business is IdentifyMe which sells IdentiKids child ID wristbands which are available in Boots, Superdrug, Mothercare and a number of other national accounts as well as a growing range of sports ID and my other main site is I.C.E. Gems selling medical ID jewellery.

It takes a good while to build up a business (I always maintain at least two years) and I have lots of experience of marketing on a budget so feel free to ask away for any questions there is always loads of people around to help.

Good luck with your business.

Hello Lyns and welcome,
It's always good to see new people on here. There are a lot of experienced people here with a variety of skills and knowledge so I am sure you'll enjoy the site.
(I am not one of them!).

Hello again!

I'm Tash, mum to four sproglets aged 8-6-4-2 and owner of Stork Gifts. I designed and promoted my own site and it is very difficult indeed, it's hard to get started, hard to move forward and just when you think you're finally getting there you get a whole new set of problems but it does have a lot of positives - no boss for one! Much more flexible hours as a general rule, a sense of reward for your efforts and I personally love to learn things :)

Hi Lyns,

I'm Arianna - a very new mum to a 3 month old baby girl. I run Ihelm Enterprises Limited which offers bookkeeping/website design/web hosting etc and I also run Delicate Dreams Limited which sells sterling silver jewellery.

It can take a bit to get a business off the ground, but keep at it and you will get there. We're a very friendly and helpful lot so ask any questions that you have and someone is certain to know the answer. :D

Hello again Lyns,

I'm Karen and run a web design business which is 4 years old now. I have two children aged 4 and 6. It does take time to build a business and lots of promotion, but it does happen if you stick with it.

I live in Dorset, not that far from Westbury, my children go to a Caravan rally at Brokers Wood at Christmas (I think that's near Westbury). I come from Salisbury/New Forest originally.

Nice to meet your here.

Karen

Hi

I'm a mum to two boys (3.5 and 1.5) and expecting number three in June. I've been running my own business since the oldest was a year old but it's only recently that I've been actively doing much promotion etc and I'm now beginning to feel it going somewhere. Slow and Steady wins the race is my motto! :D

Good luck
