Bloody mothers!!!!!

Mine is due to go to Kenya in a couple of weeks, and is still intent on ignoring Foreign Office advice and travel agent advice, and going. All because the person who operates the tour itself, says it isn't too bad.

She just won't listen to reason and thinks that even though the Foreign Office and travel agents are saying to only go over there if its essential - in reality, they are lying and everything is fine and safe.

FFS!!!!!

My nan is going out in a couple of weeks as well all because her camera broke when she was last on safari and she wants to go back to take pictures of the animals again.
Mad woman.
She probably wont even look at the photos when she gets back.

My step-brother was there on his honeymoon when everything kicked off. He said that although it didn't seem to bad he was very glad to get out of there.

My Mum is in New Zealand right now and the day she arrived there were news reports of a British backpacker being murdered.

I'm banning all my loved ones from going anywhere now!

I would never go to Kenya for many reasons.

Hope that your mum stays safe.

I work for a charity that runs a school in Kibera, which is in Kenya. More than 40 of the families who use the school have been made homeless in the chaos there, comprising over 90 children. One young boy's father was found dead in a ditch having been hacked to death with a machete. One young boy is missing.

The school has had to employ 24 hour security as it has been threatened. If she really thinks its safe I'll send her the updates from the school itself to read.

I've told her that if she is going to be so daft as to ignore foreign office advice if it remains the same when she is due to fly out, then on her own head be it - I can't stop her.

Still think she is being bloody stupid though, and irresponsible. She's forgetting what she'd be saying to me if it was the other way round.

Mothers  Who'd have 'em.

Oh mines a nightmare Shaz - she's only happy if I'm either arguing with DH or having tough times etc. Whether its because she then feels needed or not I don't know, but she tends to cause trouble to get the reactions she wants itms. Including criticising the way I bring up my boys, even though I've had nothing but praise about them and their behaviour.
