Advice on e-newsletters

I need some advice I have zencart and the newsletter function is very basic, and want to be able to send out a newsletter that will make people sit up and take notice.

I've only got 20 subscribers at the moment, so don't know if it is worth my while getting a company to do it.

Any ideas or suggestions?

Constant contact is free with so few subscribers (I think).

You can easily do this yourself - there are lots of programs out there such as constant contact etc
imho a newsletter is a really good idea
Do you have any specific issues you're not sure about that we can help you with?

Yes, I think newsletters are a really important marketing tool, but you have to get it right. I have don't have a budget set aside for this at the moment and was hoping to get away with the zencart until I got more subscribers.

However I need something a bit better than plain text...so if you can recommend any free options until I have some money to set aside
