The scenario:

Customer A ordered on 11th Jan at 20:46 and paid by Credit Card via Protx.

She received emails from Protx re payment and an automated order confirmation. Her auto email allocated her an order number, say 9999.

I have no record of this order in the admin panel and the items are no longer in her cart. Also, the items have not been updated in the catalog.

Customer B ordered on 11th Jan at 21:25 and paid by Paypal.

She received emails from Paypal and the auto confirm email and was allocated order 9999 too! This order has been retained in the admin panel.


Previously, on other orders that the system has not captured I have received the payment and no order but in these cases the items are always in the customers shopping cart! I have presumed that this is a server glitch.

Has anyone experienced any of these type of problems or have any idea what is the cause?

I've never used Osc and Protx together.

I know that if a customer uses Paypal and doesn't click back to your site you won't get the order in your admin panel

I had that with Protx, just once. I think the customer went back and forward a bit and confused it. I have protx set to detail the order too though so i picked it up from there, but i was lucky to spot it. It is very annoying!

Hi - I have had a customer showing as a succesful checkout on 11 Jan - but no further info - I'm oscommerce and protx - I;m waiting to see if they get intouch as I've no idea what they ordered !

I had this with Nochex yesterday. :unsure:

Yes, thats how I spotted in on the Protx email, thank goodness it was detailed!

Did you check the unsold carts? If the server had a glitch you would get the payment but not the order.

the cart was noted as a successful checkout under the supertracker stats but I got nothing else - no payment record, no order details, nada :eek:

Usually the items will still be in the shopping cart if the order wasn't registered, like you say. This usually happens if the customer didn't return to your website. The Paypal IPN module usually sorts this.

Did the customer say they had any problems when they placed the order?
