Our maternity wing here in Bridgwater is only a 4 bed ward, with one labour room

ours is huge, there were 17 babies born when DS was born. I think there's about 30 beds, wards only have 4/6 beds, theres about 4 of them plus a number of single rooms. and I've been in 3 delivery suits but I think there's at least 10 plus 1 or 2 birthing pools.
thats just from what I remember, there maybe more as Hazel ward ( the maternity ward) takes up most of the 2nd floor.

i know ours is big, and is within a general hospital about 9 miles away, has ante natal unit and post natal wards and delivery suites, and theatres, although dont know how many of any of them there are shrugshoulders111
I know when i had ds2 by emergency C Section, i think i was put in the broom cupboard for the op as i was told the theatres were full :cheesy:
I remember being taken on my bed into this room, and nurses were moving things about that were in the way, and it wasnt a very big room, then they brought in what i thought was a clix coffee machine :cheesy:, but it was something to do with what the aneathnestist (sp) uses during ops shrugshoulders111
there was just stuff all over the place...so i tell everyone i had my baby by emergency c section in a store cupboard :hysterica :hysterica
