I thought i would post this, just to warn people to be on the lookout.

I've got a premier account, have had for years and i've never had this happen.

This morning i had 3 payments returned and the email says it is because they were card funded and i don't have a paypal account (it's genuine, not a spoof.)

Looked in my account, yes they've been returned and are from 16th December. I got paypal payment confirms as normal and nothing showed up the time as odd in anyway.

However, apparently, had i thoguht to go back through my account records of, oh i don't know, 500 payments, i'd have discovered that i needed to claim them, not because i haven't got a paypal account but because i was approaching £900 in my paypal account.

I had no idea there was a £900 account limit on a paypal account, in a month i've had nothing to tell me that i've got payments to claim and paypal are utterly disinterested in the fact that their system means that i am now £50 down.

Charming. I now have to go and hope those 3 customers will be happy to pay me again. Pah.

Now I have noticed that sometimes I have to "claim" the payments (I can't remember the word that is in the click box it is something like download payment or something similar).

It doesn't happen often and I don't know why it does, I thought it was because we had taken the payment over the phone but that doesn't happen every time.

I now just cast my eyes down the list just in case.

Will you let me know if you find out any more about this and why it happens.

Fingers crossed the customers now pay!

I knew about there being a limit of receipts that you are allowed in one month, as they sent out an email the first time we were about to reach that limit to say that I had to confirm who I was and answer the telephone and things. It was something to do with anti-fraud legislation I think.

I've never heard of having to 'claim' the payment though. I have never had that and I use Virtual Terminal for telephone payments too.

I have a french paypal account and I have to "claim" every payment that comes through, but I think that is because they are being turned into euros

sorry, not a WHAM but I had to claim some of my payments, don't know why, it's only some that come through like it, my traffic isn't as busy as yours so mine are easy to spot. never been notified about them.

How do you know if you have to claim it or not?
I just looked at my account and it looks fine but im wondering if I need to click on each transactions details to see if it needs to be claimed or is it really obvious?

I think it says "Unclaimed" or something in the Status column. I've had a few but I've always spotted them.
