I think from a previous thread 90% of us hates clowns, and even find them nightmareish.

Ban the clowns, paint over them.

Fish are always relaxing, as long as some bright spark doesn't add sharks (another nightmare), mostly ASK THE KIDS!!! that way they can get some ideas. Stear clear of Cbebbies characters, we had some painted on the playgroup when I was little and nobody ever got the eyes right, they looked evil.

I think it is a bit out of date now as well as a little bit creepy, I'm not a big fan of clowns and they are a little weird to look at, I agree with fish or teddy bears or flowers or something completely neutral. I can imagine as a small child being scared of a hell of a lot when you're not in your own bed at home with your family, the last thing you want them to do is be scared by the pictures on the walls!!

Ds would freak if there was a clown on the wall when he was in hospital-he is petrified of them.

That picture IS abit scary, I have to say, and Im not usually bothered by them, although dp is. I dont think my ds would be too keen on looking at that picture either. Mummylisa80 is right - Fish are relaxing, beautiful, and not scary!
