I blame the farmers....of course consumers want cheap meat! But they don't have to got that far!

It's the supermarkets that are to blame, not the farmers. It was said there that at the minute they make 3pence per bird - how can they live when in order to make a pound they need to sell over 30 birds? If the farmers try to decrease their stock size then the supermarkets will go abroad where they will get the meat cheaper.

I'm watching it and I've been watching hugh's programmes this week too, I will not be buying standard chicken or eggs now, although I do buy free range eggs already. It is making me a little bit queasy but it is something I feel I have to watch to be educated in what goes on as the supermarkets don't tell us what we're buying!

I've recorded it and can't wait to see it now. I'm a veggie, that doesn't really like eggs (except in the form of cake!) anyway, so I'm not too worried about having my stomach churned watching it!
