Im furious!
I have just got in from picking the kids up from school and all i could hear was running water in the communal corridor..
i banged on the door and got the kids in as i saw water pouring down the middle of the staircase..

turns out its the bitch that lives upstairs and she has thrown water all over her balcony..

******* marvellous, its all over my buggy. I only didnt take it as fern wanted to walk today.. Im so angry. I have no idea what was in the water and even if it was plain water then its got all the muck and yuck in it from coming down the stairs..
so thats it, now i have to go adn buy a new buggy.. I cant use this one as i have no idea what chemicals she has used, the water was pouring down black. The water has drenched my buggy to the point that the hood (its an urban detour 3 wheeler) is so wet that the black water has come through that onto the buggy.

im furious. all she said as i shouted out to marc to have the kids as there was water pouring through was
"its ok its me on the balcony its not another flood"

ffs... i cant do this any more. i cant take any more.. and i cant afford a new buggy when Fern is 2 1/2 already..

the water has also gone into my outside cupboard where we have other things stored including a spare computer monitor.. well the whole lot is going to be f*cked now..

why us?

Im stunned! you really have to report her to your H/A as a tennant she has a duty NOT to be a nuicance to her neighbours etc etc.......why should YOU have to pay for a new buggy because of her thoughtlessness......could this be classed as criminal damage??? if so is it worth reporting it to the police? what abot your house insurance?? are you covered for something like this?? tho personally I think she should pay......I know our H/A does not tolerate this kind of thing! I really hope you get something sorted.

this is the same woman who has cost us over £2000 in damages since we moved in. We have had 6 floods caused by her and now this as well.
We have reported her to the ha time after bloody time and nothing gets done. I hate her, shes a complete bitch.
last time she caused over £2000 with one of her floods she put a bottle of vodka in our milk cupboard and that was it.

we cant do this anymore.. there is nowhere else left to turn, we have tried everything.

Apparantly the main problem is that she privately owns hers so **** the rest of us.. no one wants to swap with me, and so i am stuck or i move miles away and leave what we have here, and the kids have to change schools.

omig....yes that is a problem if she owns hers...I assumed she was another tennant! cos if she was the H/A would have to sort it out!

could this be a matter for the police?? as it doesnt souind like things will change....maybe you should report her....

are there other tennants who have had problems with her????

with ref to a swap...hope you get something sorted out soon.....being happy is the main thing...

why was she tipping crap from the balcony? does the silly woman not have a sink

Debbie32
04-01-2008, 06:55 PM
we are still having a similar problem with our old neighbours and them stopping us selling our house and we are now going down the route of a solicitor, i know this is costly though

have you spoken to the CAB?? what about environmental health, dumping water with unknown contents on your balcony should surely be a health risk

Trinity

Suzi, hun that is not on! It is rude and irresponsible! Accidents do happen, we did flood our neighbours and felt awful about it and then the lady upstairs had a leaky pipe and our ceiling fell down, but these were all sorted out immediately to ensure that it never happened again!

Can't you counter-claim on her insurance, that's what we done when our ceiling came down?

Failing that I would contact your local Enviroment Agency as what she is doing is unacceptable and such an inconveneince to you.

As someone has already said give Freecycle a try and they might be able to come up with a buggy for you, I gave mine away on there.

Seren

Suzi - I agree with everyone else. Call the police and see where she stands, she has repeatedly caused willful damage to your property and is a nusiance neighbour
http://www.respect.gov.uk/uploadedFiles/Members_site/Document_Library/step-by-step_guides/NeighbourNuisance_SepByStep0060.pdf

Hope the link helps a bit.

Or come over and visit me and send her the bill!

Surely Suzi the Housing association has the same responsibility to its tenants as the Council does to council tenants, do you have a tenacy agreement, I know on the council one it covers about nuicence neighbours. I would contact the association saying that you are holding them responsible as they have not deal with her before and tell them you expect a new buggy, and threaten them with the local paper if they refuse.

thanks!

tbh we have tried everything, apparently its "not a police matter madam" and basically the ha dont give a monkeys about anything. .We have had this going on (and her flushing cat litter) since the day we moved in.. really there is nothing we can do. not even our counsellor or our mp can help. we are stuck until we find someone who wants to swap with us or we give up and move miles away and lose everything we have got - as in friends, school, marcs business plans, my supply work, my scout troop, a brilliant hv, the kids their friends etc...

sorry not into chatting about it right now as im in sitting in the corner and rocking mode, im just so fed up and really cant deal with it/her any more...

anyway i have been a horribly shouty mum and took it all out on the kids and marc this evening, and its not their fault so im going to stay quiet tonight as i dont want to have anyone else to apologise to..

thanks Kate1 for your lovely lovely pm..

Oh Suzi - I would see about the small claims court then, If no one will help you then hit her in the pocket.

smirnoff
04-01-2008, 10:44 PM
no point, she told me last time that she doesnt have any insurance, even her buildings is only minimal cover so doesnt cover anything.
we cant get contents insurance because of the number of leaks we have had..

Girlzmum
04-01-2008, 10:53 PM
Not for her insurance, take her to court for the damage she has caused. I don't doubt you have records of all the repairs, ask your insurance comapnies for details of pay outs and confirmation of the fact they won't insure you anymore. Hit her pocket, not an insurance companies and it might make her think twice.

smirnoff
04-01-2008, 10:55 PM
weve never had contents insurance.. when we first moved in we couldnt afford it, then when we got the money together there was a flood and we were told to come back in 6 months (no point lying to them or the insurance would have been void anyway) then 5 months and 3 days later we had another flood and so it continued.........

I can't believe that there is nothing that someone somewhere can do. it really does take the biscuit, perhaps Marc should learn to play the violen or electric guitar and drive her out, how about a couple of wild parties???

I guess I would just keep logging the events and perhaps keep hassling the Housing peeps and pray for an exchange.

Huge hugs to you all
