We are still taking and dispatching orders but it has quietened down to a dribble today.

Are you all shutting up shop or continuing to dispatch any orders that come in?

I feel a bit flat tbh, I love the adreneline of working flat out.

I've finished, got my last orders posted out last Friday - phew! I was so happy to get them done so this week I've been able to consentrate getting ready for Christmas :cold2:

Still working, Friday is the last day for guaranteed Christmas delivery providing Parcelforce doesn't BEEP BEEP. Had a nightmare this week already!

I am soooooooooooooooooooo looking forward to Friday night when the answering machine goes on, the computer goes off and apart from trying to help customers who haven't received stuff (because I still think I should do that at least but hopefully not much of it) I'm not doing bugger all. I do have a lot of soul searching and serious planning to do with DH over the holidays so it's not all tools down but mostly :)

Take the time that it's quiet and make the most of it, I know what you mean about the adrenaline I'm the same but it's not good for you.

I've put on the site that orders placed before 10am tomorrow will be despatched for Christmas. I can't post orders later tomorrow as I am busy with the children and their school activities.

I won't be closing, I will post any orders that come through over Christmas. I also have some new items that I want to get added to the site. They are heavy and low value so I didn't want to sell them while I had to post everything first class.

Well, I've got new orders to send tomorrow, and will be open for orders whenever anybody wishes to give me them! :cheesy:

I don't expect any orders, although experience tells me different - when I sold maternity wear I had a man ring me on New Years Day wanting to order a pair of green maternity dungarees (for his wife, of course), to be delivered in plain packaging.

Thanks everyone. I personally can't see the point in shutting up shop, I don't think anyone now expects delivery before Jan, so any orders we get out I'm sure people will see as a bonus rather than expected.

Apart from the internet side of things, we have the postponed meeting taking place in the first week of Jan, several major orders to dispatch to the nat accounts first week of Jan (so they will have to be packed up ready to go) and a re-run of that huge print job for the first week of Jan. Oh and DH has to get the accounts up to date for a meeting in Jan with the accountant, so a lot still going on here but not at the same high intensity level we have been working at. I also want to sort out the stuff for the January sales across all the sites too and I have loads of new season stuff to put on N&B too.

I did the last hokey cokey of the year (unless there's a last minute birthday party), so it's time to soak these aching feet, switch on the answerphone, and try to forget to worry about class numbers etc.

Im probably going to put a note up on the site saying that any orders will be posted out in Jan but will try and post them out before. Im going to try and do a lot of work to the two sites ready for the new year. I dont finish real work until xmas eve at 3pm

Just got another order a few mins ago, is only about 1/3 down on a normal Wednesday night. We''ll still post on Christmas Eve, we get a collection and it's paid for whether we use it or not! I'm actually working one day this weekend as we've been too busy to get going on the stocktaking - we tend to fill any spare time during the back end of December with counting boxes and leaving a card in the box which is adjusted if we use any stock, so on 31st we then whip out the cards and that's our stocktake done. Of course as we've not counted much stock so far (less than 1/6) and we've only 2 more school days to go...this also means the sale stock listing is behind and we've got to get our sale ready to start on 27th...

I'm not going to upload any more products till later this evening as I've no time to post later today. I'll do these when I do the school run.

I have put a note on saying we are now closed. To be honest it's the only way I can get myself organised. I have a couple to get out today, but I have now put the answer machine which is a great feeling, but like you Nadine after the last couple of months I do feel a bit flat and it gets a bit of getting used to not working like mad!!!!

I think I mentioned in one of my posts yesterday that I go cold turkey from it all. So madly busy for weeks and then I can't tear myself from the pc checking for emails and orders !
it's a disease or OCD !

I'm glad I'm still here tho as just had a large wholesale order for two shops opening in London early Feb !

Quite why people need to know the ins and outs of things this close to Christmas...ah, got it, they're at work, nothing is doing at work so they're bored, they've done all their Christmas shopping, the sales haven't started and so they're off searching the internet.

Also had half a dozen orders already, and I've got no staff today, off sick, so still no counting happening.

I'm all done and dusted, just got back from the post office sending the last lot, by special delivery. Can't believe how manic it's been, this is my first real Christmas as I only opened the site in November last year. I'm so relieved to have finished and apart from a bit of designing the new tins for Valentines and the new spring range I will post any orders but not unless I have time. Am just about to reduce loads of stuff for the sale now though so still open for business.

I'm not shutting shop but after tomorrow won't be sending until after Boxing Day.

I'm going to be spending a long time planning my new ranges over Christmas which I always enjoy doing :hyper:
