I know this isnt the same, but Ive been getting Christmas cards, thru the post, and theyve been opened!
My Mam sent one to Shia with " babys first Christmas " on, and it was open, I couldve cried.
They are looking for money.
Oh and one from a credit card company was open, whoever opened it obviously thought there was a card in it, makes me SICK!

I honestly have no idea but I will get to the bottom of this, Lee seems to think the DS Lite might have been too big for the postie to carry so hoping it's not that but who knows? At least with Lee being off work the rest of the week I can make sure someone is in everyday to catch the postie to see what stuff turns up & what doesn't.

Joy, report it! And not to your local depot - phone the local police. They should really investigate that, it could be just one desperate crim, or it could be a group & serious fraud if they do get cards/ numbers. Also contact all your banks/ credit card companies and ask them not to send you new cards or PIN numbers & explain the problem. had to have our postal depot checked over by police a while bakc, it took them ages, but they did catch the culprits.

The cred letter thing was just a circular, but thats not the point, what really really upset me tho, was the babys very first Christmas card.. really got to me that did, luckily there had been no money in it in the first place, but to think of someone rooting around a nearly 4 mths old babies card is vile.
I bet ya Im not the only one this is happening to. Thanks for the advice xxx

Yvonne, it might be worth phoning the company you bought the ds lite from & explain what's happened, as they won't be impressed that their choice of courier has done this. There's a chance they mught be insured, or kind enough to give you a replacement as 'lost in post'.

I called the company but they shut at 4 so going to try tomorrow & see if it was sent special delivery which something of that value *should* have been really.

Yup, I knew someone who used to do this (gosh, 15 years ago!). Because the mail boxes get so full at this time of the year they can put their hands in the slits and take stuff out. So don't post in a full up Post Box!

I wouldnt post them in there... and my Mam had took them into the PO itself, so whoever did this didnt get there hands in the post box.
But yes, I have seen the post boxes heaving at the seams for all to see... mad.

There's not much they can do if it's taken from post boxes, but if enough of the community complain they can set up some surveillance to catch the b*****. Round our way (where we used to live) it was post office workers to blame & they had police posing as post office workers to catch them at it! They were stealing all kinds of stuff, almost everyone had post & parcels go missing.

Spoke to local customer services team who then spoke to the person who left them, I then managed to get hold of the postman himself who said he did leave them there & he thinks it was 3 boxes he left in my bin so at the moment I still have no idea what they may be, I was on the phone to Nestle for a complaint when he came so Lee spoke to him first which is probably a good thing as I would have attacked him (sorry but it's true) I've spoken to the company who sent the DS Lite (sent on the 15th) & they are resending that one out but I'm now waiting to see if the DVD set turns up tomorrow otherwise I'll be chasing that up too but that was only sent on Monday so not sure if it could be here that quick at this time of year? Got a book today by courier which I won online so it's not that, got my cards from Suzi (Thanks!), still waiting for another couple of small parcels but don't know if any of them would be in boxes???? In a nutshell still no wiser but at least the DS Lite is being sorted out - watch the original one turn up tomorrow or something now LOL

To be totally honest with you because of the tablets I'm on I'm staying remarkably calm about it now, yesterday I was screaming at anyone who would listen but now I'm just at the stage where somehow or other it will sort itself out but I will not be letting it drop with Royal Mail as it's them that's at fault.

O ffs who leaves stuff in a damn bin!!!!!!!
My postie once left one in the garden-would have been fine had it not been a communal one for 4 flats n frequented by kids!!!!!!
I reported it to the cops n had replacements sent recorded delivery.:happy72:

No still not got any of them but Royal Mail have admitted liablility (sp?) so after Christmas once I know for sure that is 3 parcels missing then they will send me a cheque for replacements - currently looking at being £170 unless any of the 3 major parcels I'm waiting for show up. Luckily it's none of the girls presents, the DS Lite is for me from Lee because Chloe is fed up of me being on hers all the time.

Well finally some good news, the replacement DS Lite came Special Delivery on Friday Lee didn't tell me as he wanted it to be a surprise & also the other items he was waiting for arrived too so we'll wait & see now what else is missing.
