Obviously not including any of our WAHM's here as I've never been let down by either of them but tonight I've been let down by both Tesco and Amazon. Why do they sell stock when they know they don't blooming well have it?
I ordered 2 dressing gowns from Tesco as part of their Deal of the Day earlier this week, they were offering 1/3 off, so I ordered them and 3 pairs of pj's, it came to over £50 so I was able to use a £10 off voucher and then the 1/3 was taken off. I asked for them to be delivered to the store so I didn't have to pay delivery. Got a call today to say order was there so called tonight to pick it up. Thought the package was a bit small but she didn't say a word so I didn't. Got home, opened it and no dressing gowns, checked order form and it said dressing gowns were there. Rang CS and guy said 'Oh yeah, they're out of stock. I'll refund you the money now' So not only did they not have the decency to tell me, they didn't even bother giving me my money back until I chased it!!!!!!! Not impressed at all.
Then I got an email from Amazon saying an item I ordered weeks ago won't be arriving at all because there's none in stock.20061008

Really bloody angry.

I'm still waiting for an order from a very (supposedly) reputable company to be despatched, even though I ordered it on 23rd November and I've not once received any contact from them saying that it will be delayed. To say I'm peed off is an understatement.

Totally know where you are coming from Colette.

I'm wondering if a friend of mine is going to succeed in her quest for a Nintendo DS as she's ordered one from Tescos for collection and so far, even though she's had confirmation of order etc, its not yet arrived in store.

Why do they do these things instead of only selling the stock they actually have

It was my mums birthday present too. Not only that but because I'd spent over £50 I was able to use a voucher for £10 off so instead of getting the full amount refunded I got £6.18. I ordered more than £50, they're the ones not fulfilling their contract yet I'm the one paying for it - absolutely fuming. I've emailled them, they have completely shafted me and let me down. People on mse said they went straight to the store and got £24 refunded for the 2 dressing gowns.

That's really bad.

A couple of years ago, I ordered some things from a Christmas toy club via the local toddler group. The people organising came to collect the orders and every week to collect payments towards the order.

Delivery was made a few days before Christmas - and most of the things I'd wanted, and paid for, weren't available!!

I have had that experience with Amazon as well. Took almost 4 months one time to receive something I ordered from there. I haven't been back. Sorry to hear it and good luck with it.

Amazon have let me down, had ordered a PS3 eye toy for dh for xmas and they kept saying yes it'll be released on the 14th Dec, I got worried when every other site said it would be the 21st. so just afew days ago, then a few days ago Amazon changed the release date to the 21st and didn't even email me to say if I wanted it for before xmas i wouldn't get it unless I paid another £8.99 for express next day delivery. What if I never checked the site, I'd be none the wiser, so have cancelled to order, ordered from Game instead and they can guarantee delivery for next Friday. I've lost all faith in Amazon now, their customer service is cr@p
