Just heard the terrible news that this wonderful, funny, intelligent and articualte man has been diagnosed with a rare form of Alzheimers disease. A tragedy for anyone but doubly so for such a great writer!cryingsmil

my DH went to the same school as him, so had read all his books (to that date) by the time he was 13 as their school libaury had them all donated by him plus hand written first copies that wereand probably still are kept in a glass showcase.

Met him once at a book signing - only went to keep my friend company ended up buying the book (Hogfather) which she promptly took off me in front of him and told me I had to read the others first - which he agreed with!! If you haven't read any start with the Colour of Magic and The Light Fantastic or for children try truckers or the Johnny and the bomb series. Great sense of humour and looks at our lives with a quirk and turns it into the Discworld!

Oh no, want a terrible shame, TP kept me company through many a teenage trauma and made being grounded a pleasure!

I've got my teenage daughter well and truly hooked, what will we do without his irreverent humour? :rain:
