Think this is in the wrong forum but never mind!!
Does anyone have a loft conversion and is it worth it?

We are thinking of having one done as it will give us a lot more room as there would be space for 2 rooms and new a bathroom. It would give us a lot more room and will be usefull when the girls are getting older!!

We already have the loft fitted out as one large room but it is empty, so all that would need to be done would be put some extra walls in to make the separate rooms.

Thoughts appreciated!! xx

We have a loft converstion, was already done when we bought the house 15 years ago.

Eldest dd has it as her bedroom, it fits two single beds in, she has a spare bed for when her friends stay over.

It is definitely worth it for us as we only have a 2 bed house, so without the loft she would have to share a bedroom with her two younger sisters.

I have a loft conversion, we dont use it as a room as such. It has a tele and a sofa and its carpeted (infact its the nicest room in the house) but ours is just one room to chill sometimes and to store things with ease in nice colourful boxes lol!

Its worth it though, we are just starting an extension now so I think every bit of room helps

We have a loft conversion. Our house went from a 2 bed bungalow to a 3 bed semi-house with large hallway, 2 bathrooms and a separate dining room. We were lucky because we could fit 4 extra rooms upstairs.

I would say it is definately worth it. Make sure you get a few quotes and it's better to get the builder to do all the checks with your local council, thus saving you from tooing and frowing to the Town Hall.
