Hi everyone
I would love to start selling on ebay - I know a few people who makes lots of money from it. I am right at the start of my journey and would love any advice that you can give me on the following:
1. What to sell - what sells well, what sells for a high price, what sells in bulk etc
2. How to write the ads
3. Having an online store
4. Where you get your goods from.
5. How much to charge
6. Auction vs. buy it now
7. Any other advice.
Thank you so much

Sorry Rach, can't be of much help really as I have only sold odd things for the kids.
I daresay you will get advice from some on here who sell more regularly than me. The items we sold were sports clothing/shoes so we didn't make much money on them. But my daughter sold some gig tickets and got much more than she'd bargained for. If the item you're selling is desirable then you're laughing, I can see the merits of buying sought after goods and selling them on especially around christmas.
Only thing I found a faff was parcelling up and sending the stuff.
Sorry I can't be of more help

Hi,
start small! Find a few items around the house and try it out. That way you can see how things work. As you have said, its about what to sell and thats always the big question on ebay. I belive it really more about yourself than the product. Often people start by getting rid of old items. It can be a no hassle way of building feedback and fine tuning how you work. Really what you are looking for is a niche market or something you know lots about. The alternative is to drop ship, which I'm sure is a big percentage of ebay sales and a whole book in itself.

I agree with househusband - start off by selling a few unwanted items so that you get a handle on how things work, when you want to list ( and probably how to use turbo lister as well).
If you are interested in selling on ebay on a more professional basis, I wouln't recommend a shop straight away as they are a bit pricey while you are still testing the waters in yor chosen area.
you could go for the drop shipping route, or you could find a wholesale source, or you could concentrate in one area, and buy at boot sales etc. and then put on to ebay.
WHatever area you are interested in it is worth studying the ebay sales (other peoples stuff) in whatever you want to conccentrate on, so you know the sort of price you will be expecting.
I usually do Auction and buy it now - but I am not sure that that is the best way IYSWIM, cos I only sell my own bits.
Other advice is make sure that you weigh everything + packaging before you put in the P&P price - You would be surprised how heavy some things actually are and the postage could be much highre than you had thought.
