For those people that don't make their products, how do you get to do Craft Fairs? All the ones I've been to a a visitor have had vendors selling things they've made themselves and it seem to be a rule of selling.

Surely the public would be disappointed to see stuff that you haven't made as a Craft Fair usually means just that?

Very confused lol

I've had the same confusion so you aren't alone. :cheesy:

:cheesy: when i first enquired about my first one I actually asked the chap if he realised that I didnt actually 'make' the things and he said yes but it was fine!

mine is sort of 'crafty' though as you have to use the things to cook with...which is a craft

I have had a stall at a few craft fairs and don't make my own thing. It depends on the people organising it. I wanted to attend a council run one and they were very strict which is fair enough but it's worth asking as no everyone is so strict.

The best comment I've had on market stalls in general is this mum who said to me: " when I go to a fair/charity event etc.. I like to see things for sale that I can't buy in a shop". I thought that was that probably quite true for a lot of us and as a result made sure that part of my range of board games and toys is not easily available in shops.

I do craft fairs and as you know I make every single thing that I sell and its the kiss of death when you get someone there who is selling cheap plastic tat jewellery as although there are people who appreciate artisan handmade beads and jewellery the majority want cheap tat that looks good for a few weeks before it falls a part. Not saying that any of you are selling cheap tat of course because what you are selling is lovely, but, when I organise my church fair I do make sure that if there is someone selling ie, pottery that I don't have someone else there selling mass produced ceramics itms. I would have two selling pottery as long as it was handmade by themselves. I also have pheonix cards as well as people making handmade cards because the quality is excellent. Does that make sense.
