Blogger is owned by Google so is picked up in the search engines very quickly. I can post and I get a Google alert almost straight away if I have mentioned the words that my alerts are for.

I agree with Chell - blogger is great for increasing the chances of hits from google

I agree about Blogger. I used Wordpress for FMAF and nothing got picked up whereas with Blogger I get the posts in my alerts almost straight away.

I use blogger for my personal blog, but I use my the blogging software I wrote myself on my web site. Not so sure why I keep up the blogger account TBH?

Not sure yet I may do. I was going to do a Mumszone one as I saw they are another good way of getting your site known!

I have blogs (yes, more than one) and one used to be a business blog but I found it didn't really do much for the business at the time so I turned it into a bit of a political ranty letting off steam blog instead.

Now it attracts visitors and some do wander onto my site. I am currently debating running the new writing focused site as mostly a blog with links for book buying on there somehow too. I have blogs on both blogger and blogsome and they're a bit different but it's really a case of what does what you want it to. I like blogsome and I switched to it when blogger was messing me about. Blogger has since upgraded to new software and is much better. I looked at wordpress but it wouldn't let me do some stuff that I like on the free version - I'm a tight fisted git!

I suspect self hosted is the way to go for me but it's a scary prospect!

I have a blog on my website, I just added a new page. Do you think it would be better to have a blogger one too for SE purposes?
