Jason Brown

Age: 31
Who is he? Ex-member of boyband 5ive, also known as "J".
What to expect: Single Jason could be looking for love in the jungle, so watch out Gemma! He is also very fit, so will excel at the physical challenges.
Phobias: Tarantulas crawling all over him and confined spaces under water.
Special skills: Cooking, and he reckons he’s a bit of a Ray Mears survival specialist too.
Celebrity supporters: His ex-5ive bandmates.
Jason says: "I don’t think there’s anything I would refuse to do but you never ever know what these twisted minds are going to come up with on this programme.”

Marc Bannerman

Age: 34
Who is he? Marc found fame playing Gianni de Marco in EastEnders, and has since undertaken a variety of new challenges, including roles in Celebrity Wrestling and Footballer Wives: Extra Time.
What should we expect? Marc looks to be the hardman of this year’s jungle line-up, which might get on the nerves of the well-muscled J.
Phobias: Enclosed spaces, jumping from heights.
Special skills: Strength and cooking.
Celebrity supporters: Dean Gaffney, Martina Cole, Craig Kelly, Liz Carling.
Marc says: “I’ve been practising on the cat, and the cat’s got no balls left because I’ve been chewing on them for the last three days to practice!”

John Burton Race

Age: 50
Who is he? Well-known TV chef and star of Britain’s Best Dish.
What to expect: A man who doesn’t suffer fools gladly, who will add a bit of spice to the camp’s plain food too. He’s also unafraid of creepy crawlies, so will fare well in the Trails.
Phobias: Heights, rats.
Special skills: Fishing and shooting.
Celebrity supporter: Fellow chef, Raymond Blanc.
John says: “If I get desperate for protein and real food I’ll just kill one of the celebrities, chop them up and eat them.”

Rodney Marsh

Age: 63
Who is he? The former England footballer enjoyed an illustrious career at Fulham, QPR and Manchester City, before leaving the game to become a football pundit.
What should we expect? Rodney claims he’s not scared of going into the jungle. Then again, he’s never had to live with nine moaning celebs before…
Phobias: Heights and rats.
Special skills: Motivation, application, and improvisation.
Celebrity supporters: Matt Le Tissier, Geoff Stelling, Jo Royal and Jilly Cooper.
Rodney says: “I think it might be a tinderbox with me. If someone starts talking complete b******* for a long time I might have to say something.”

Malcolm McLaren

Age: 61
Who is he? Ex-manager of the Sex Pistols, music maker and self confessed self publicist.
What to expect: The odd row and a bit of confrontation. The impresario is well-known for his outspoken views, and his penchant for getting into trouble.
Phobias: Poisonous snakes and uncontrollable wild beasts.
Special skills: Rule breaking - he’ll be good for helping others let off steam.
Celebrity supporters: “Thousands,” and his ex-Sex Pistol and maybe his former I’m A Celebrity… chum John Lydon.
Malcolm says: “Don’t bungle the jungle’. That’s my code, that’s my motto."

Age: 22
Who is she? It’s hard to miss former Hollyoaks star Gemma: she’s usually plastered across the pages of lads’ mags, newspapers and women’s magazines. She also appeared in the last series of Soapstar Superstar.
What should we expect? Plenty of steamy shower scenes to get the nation’s dads' pulses racing, a la Myleene Klass.
Phobias: Snakes, ostriches, spiders and sleep-walking.
Special skills: Teamwork.
Celebrity supporters: Terri Dwyer, Mikyla Dodd and the entire Hollyoaks cast.
Gemma says: “I hope the other contestants will see that I’m not a no–brain girl with fake boobs, and that I’m ballsy and game for a laugh.”

Anna Ryder Richardson

Age: 43
Phobias: Rats and mice.
Special skills: Being cheerful and bouncy.
Who is she? Queen of all things MDF, Anna made her name as a straight-talking interior designer on Changing Rooms.
What should we expect? The messy camp should be transformed into a glamorous, Feng Shui-ed masterpiece after Anna gets her hands on it.
Celebrity supporter: Duncan Bannatyne.
Anna says: “I will keep my pants on very tight all the time. Pull them right up here. I don’t care what I look like.”

Cerys Matthews

Age: 38
Who is she? Welsh singer-songwriter and ex-front lady of indie band Catatonia.
What to expect: Noise. The star confesses, "I’m quite a fidget and I hum quite a lot and sing all the time. That could get incredibly annoying couldn’t it?" Or, maybe her and Jason will form a new band.
Phobias: Maggots, caterpillars, big spiders, flies, rats, mosquitoes, fire ants, leeches, heights, snakes. Just about everything really.
Special skills: Tidying and getting on with people.

What to expect: A whole lot of mouth. The sexy star is known for her big pouty lips and her razor-sharp tongue. But she insists she has a softer side too.

Special skills: Swimming and climbing trees.

Lynne Franks

Age: 59
Who is she? Public Relations guru and New Age feminist who inspired Jennifer Saunders’ Absolutely Fabulous character, Edina Monsoon.
What should we expect? Lynne’s been her own boss ever since she set up her own PR company at the age of 21. And something tells us she’s not going to like being ordered around by her fellow celebs.
Phobias: Sharing a toilet.
Special skills: The wisdom of the older woman.
