My mum is on holiday in Teneriffe (sp), so i have been feeding her cats, went down on saturday, and 1 had been sick everywhere, didn't really think much of it as they were both running around, and seemed fine, Then went down yesterday after taking Leah to school, and thought i would do a bit of cleaning for her (thought it would be nice for her to come home and not have to do anything)....well anyway, i went into the conservatory, to feed them and there was this thing on the floor, dont know why but i knew what it was, now my mum hasn't got them registered at a vets, it was on her "to do" list, so i phoned the vet we use for our dog, they said the best bet is to bring her in, she needs to be checked......now my mum doesnt actually know which is the boy and which is the girl, so i didnt know which cat it was, and neither looked or was acting as if they were in any sort of pain, the vet said bring them both in....so put the phone down and thought "how the hell am i supposed to take 2 kids, and 2 cats on the train/bus, and the vet said it could be a bit pricey, depending on what needed doing...and i didnt have any money......

Any way it turns out that the one my mum thought was the girl in fact was the boy :ac39: ..

But the cat is fine, on anti biotics, because the vet said he thinks she has an infection, which most likely caused the miscarriage, but my brother has to take her back to the vets tonight, because he just wants to check on her, she had a bit of a temperature last night, so i think he wants to see if that has settled....what a nightmare

Aww, sounds like the cat isnt suffering too much which is good, although not a nice thing for you to have to deal with.

It was awful, the cat has only just turned a year old, so i still see it as a kitten..the worst thing was i have suffered a m/c, and i remember the pain, and all i kept thinking was this poor cat must have been in pain all alone (well apart from the other cat), shut in the conservatory all night (i would imagine it is the same kinda pain for cats...i dunno),i just felt so sorry for it....

Now to top it off, my mum sent my brother a message yesterday saying thanks for sorting it out, well she didn't think to send me a message to say thanks or anything, i know that he took her to the vet and he paid for the bill, but its me giving the tablets..me running down her house at 9pm last night to check the cats were ok, i couldn't get it off my mind, so had to go and check...
