I have actually purposely booked two days out this week. The last holiday I had was for two weeks back in the summer and before that over Christmas last year which was a couple of days.

Anyone else find they feel guilty when they do!shrugshoulders111

Absolutely! My mum wants us to go shopping on Wednesday because I haven't been out with her in aaaaggggggeeeeessss but I can feel massive resistance to that already.

I have an XDA phone that gets emails so I never truly have time out because I am still very aware of what is going on in the business. Even when we went on a spa break overnight earlier in the year I had the XDA at the side of the spa lol!

Enjoy your time out and don't come on here at all!

Enjoy your days off. Will you be doing anything in particular or just relaxing?

Have MIL coming on the 31st and she is here until after the weekend with FIL and also my dds birthday on the 1st and we are going out to a Safari Park for the day, so dont know I would call it relaxing :hysterica In fact could be less stressful working!!!

Take the time and make the most of it and really enjoy yourself :) I know what you mean though, the number of times I've said I'm going to take a few hours out and it's normally all of 5 minutes before I'm back at the computer working. But it will do you good.

Nooooo!!! Its time off really to spend some more time with them.

I think I will have to take some more time off when they are back at school through just to have some "me" time!!

no i dont feel guilty! the reason i started was so that it could fit in with me, not me fit in with it. so i do as i please - work when i want! there are times in the evenings when i wished id have done more in the day and so not have to work late at night...but thats the beauty of it, I can do that when i need to, so you go and enjoy yourself!

Thank you.

Have to admit that's what I said at the beginning but as I've got busier that has gone out the window a bit!

You know on the side of those phones. They have a little button called off. You need to try pressing it sometimes. Nothings worth more than time to yourself sometimes.

Hope you have a good time...and do get time for yourself next week as well. I love the rare occadions I have an hour or two without kids AND without work.

DS's birthday is on the first....must bake cake tomorrow. I'm going to make a train and carriages.....I think this may sound like a better idea now than when I actually get round to it.

Good for you taking some time for yourself, I thnk its important for all us business owners to have some personal time as I am sure many of us even when not actually working have the guilt / work thoughts.

I've taken to having half days off here and there as I have just been so swamped over the last couple of years I was feeling quite drained. Some days I am still actually doing some work stuff as I am finally sitting down to revamp my website whch has been on a back burner whilst doing other peoples for ages. But its for me mostly that is rather than the biz. Other days DH and I go out for a walk or I meet up with a friend or something and its lovely having some time to myself! The best bit is I've stopped feeling guilty about how I should be working etc (I think this has been helped by DH spending so much time gaming though LOL I dont feel bad for not working coz hes not!).
