Thought I would add this as a sticky and hopefully all you professional EBAY'ers can add some tips in, such as best time to sell your items, what you need to add and maybe some ideas on layout.

As a seller and buyer I think it's a good idea to add a picture to the gallery listing, this means it also shows on the main listings.
How often have you looked at an item that was described as lovely and thought it was yuck,at least with the extra picture the buyers that you want to attract can see if they are going to like your item whilst browsing.

How do I make pretty ads with all the html etc on there. Is there somewhere you can get something (a program I mean) to help you design a page for EBAY?

When i first started to sell on ebay i didnt realise i needed to change the days of listing my items and they all went on at 7 days which took them in to their best final minutes when you seem to get the most bids on a week day SILLY ME. If you list on a thurs for 3 days then your final mins will be on a Sunday when most people are at home and viewing Ebay. Hope this makes sense.

Check you're not paying more for postage than what you ask for. I made this mistake selling nappies - I thought that they wouldn't cost too much because they were light, but I ended up paying about £3 more than what I'd asked for :( lol

On the other hand, don't charge too MUCH postage as it can put people off.
You can also choose when you want to start your sale i.e. you can schedule your sale to start and finish on a Saturday - it does cost a few extra pence but items do seem to sell for more at the weekend.

I have been looking tonight on Ebay, as I was thinking of trying to sell some of my watercolours? I'm a bit nervous of mucking it up and getting crap reviews...lol
The more tips the better please.

PS. I've changed my pic Toni, is that better?...lol

do a 10 day auction starting on a thurs evening - that way you get 2 weekends out of it.

Use Turbo Lister to list all items, it will store items until you are ready to upload them onto eBay so you can save them all for a cheaper listing day if you wish but also when you use the nicer background's it's free on Turbo Lister whereas eBay charge 7p for each one.
