View Full Version : advice please - customers POV
Look at my necklaces: http://www.applecartcrafts.co.uk/index.php?cPath=2 would you rather you saw the whole necklace including the cord.
Or just the pendant thingy?
i think showing the whole cord is good but its hard to get a detailed picture of the cord iykwim.
then i think if i just showed the pendant thingy, im not showing it all off.....IYKWIM
help please

My first reaction was just the pendant and a bit of the cord, but then when I looked at the larger photo I realised that there are little beads on the cord as well (there was on the one I looked at), so it is worth showing the whole cord. It doesn't make the photo look very nice though. Could you show the main photo as being the pendant, and then have 'other views' showing the whole thing?

It looks fine to me as it is, there is the option to enlarge the picture so you can see the full detail then. It is useful as well to see what the pendant is hanging on iykwim wether for allergy purposes or to see if it co-ordinates with an outfit.

I think they are nice as they are, a mixture of some you can see in full and others you can partially see.

Can you edit the pics to fade the shadow, it takes your eye away from the actual item in some of the pics.

I have this problem but find it is more successful if I take a photo of the whole thing. If I was clever I would take a photo of the pendant bit AND a picture of the whole thing but I never seem to get round to it! I think your photos are fine. Maybe make a bit lighter? But I wouldn't worry. Mine are not perfect.

Tbh I like to see the pendant, but I wouldn't just want to see it, iykwim? - I think how you present them is great - you get a good overall pic of how it would look x

I agree. I think people need to see the overall image. Necklaces have always been hard to get right. Probably why I always make more bracelets ha ha! Have you tried taking a photo of white or silver jewellery yet?!

Hiya
I use some basic program that came free with my sony camera. I lighten the pictures manually so that they are clearer. To be honest, they are not as good as they could be.
You only need a basic editing program. If I was selling alot of the same thing I would pay a photographer but as all my pieces differ (as I believe yours do too) than there is no point.
Good luck - ask me anything

thanks Lucy.
i will :cheesy:
i will have to experiment with my camera's gadgets i think
