Look what I made, I started attending a parchment card making class 4 weeks ago and this is my first finished item.

Sorry not a very clear picture, but the white centre pieces are embossed so stand out from the rest of the work. Then the edges are pin pricked out to make the wave border, this is then put on coloured card to finish it

It is really relaxing to do as you have to take your time, so you tend to chill and get lost in what you are doing. I do 2 hours every Tues and would love to do longer as the time just fly's by when doing it.

You have a transparent paper and you trace the pattern in acrylic, then you use an embossing tool to make the pattern of the leaves etc, by rubbing on the back, which makes them stand out from the rest of the paper. To make the border you have a tool that pricks holes into the paper and then you remove the edge.

You can use colour as well, this week I did four butterflies and used different colours on them, they will then be cut out and folded so they look as though they are in flight and added to a card.

that sounds really difficult. I'd not heard of that before. I'd love to see the butterflies DD2 loves butterflies. Up until a couple of years ago, if you asked her what she wanted to be when she grew up she would answer 'butterfly'!!
