View Full Version : Problems with Paypal and Orders!!

I am having problems receiving my orders, I don't appear to receiving orders via email and for some reason Paypal payments are not coming through either.

I checked orders today and discovered that I received an order on 12th September that I have not dealt with, I am so annoyed as I am letting customers down. It's not something I normally do as I always get confirmation that I have received an order or receive the Paypal payment to confirm but I am receiving nothing!

Has anyone had this happen to them and is there anything I can do to rectify this? I have tried to contact Sadie but I can't reach her.

I don't want to keep going to customers and ask them to redo their order as it isn't very professional.

To those of you who have ordered recently I am so sorry for the delay and hope that it will be sorted out soon.

Could it be that the person isn't letting paypal return them to the site? As I know a few people had this problem that we had designed sites for. Customers were going through and paying, but then just closing the paypal window down so the order wasn't actually being sent to the admin panel of the shop.

Maybe just double check that the paypal ipn info is all set up correctly as maybe paypal have changed things?

I'm not sure what else to suggest but I hope what I have suggested has been of some help!

Hi Arianna, I have had that problem before where I haven't received confirmation of the order but I have received the payment through so that lets me know that there is an order.

It is possible that what you have suggested is what the problem is, so I will check it out.

I'll need to get Sadie (once I can track her down) to put a note on the site to make sure that customers go back to the site to enable the order to be completed.

It sounds strange not to get a payment received email from paypal.. Do you want me to paypal you some cash to check paypal itself is working? Are all your email addresses set up correctly, etc? This might seem daft but months back I wondered if I had a problem then realised I hadn't set up the right email account on my laptop.

If it's not Paypal then I have no idea. Me and Paypal and shopping carts just do not mix. :kisshands:

I hope you're able to get it sorted - I know how much of a pain in the butt it can be.

I'm totally stumped for as to why it wouldn't work. :-(

I had something that sounded similar - orders were there but I never got the emails through. Mine was an overflowing spam folder that I didn't know existed - there were hundreds in there. So I made a point on emptying it regularly and then there was no problem.

Whatever it is, I hope you get it sorted soon.

I dunno but playmerrily has had several paypal failures, far more than bm which almost never gets one, which makes me think that the IPN version is a bit woozy... but even on bm, lots of orders are staynig as pending instead of changing to complete, which is a right pain in the proverbial.

I think paypal is up the shoot, i was gonig to wait and see with pm but i think i am going to get protx for it asap.

Thats very odd as you have the paypal IPN installed on your website so orders should be logged as the customer leaves the website rather than as they return - when they return it will update the status though.

As for why the order emails are not coming through - is this recent as I've not updated any of the site settings and was not aware of a problem?

Will investigate!

well it's all very strange, just had a paypal payment, had no order notification and I had to 'capture' the funds :unsure: never had to do that before

it's completely up the swanny today because it was working fine at the weekend

Hi Sadie

This has just happened with the last two orders I received. It shows on the admin panel as "preparing paypal". The order hasn't been completed as the item the customer ordered is still there. I have emailed her to check that it is a definite order but the same happened with the first one and the customer had definitely made the order and had thought the paypal payment had went through.

I haven't changed any of the settings so I don't know what the problem could be.

It's obviously my week for the gremlins!

Mmmn, I am wondering if it is a problem with Paypal as I just got an order through where the payment isn't going through Paypal, and i received confirmation via email.

I really need to get more technical as I just haven't a clue!
