Hello all from a new member and busy Mummy of two.
I run my own business supporting parents and would love to know issues which you all find hard to deal with.
I am very interested in some of the discussion points in the forum particularly around working and being a parent and post natal depression.
I was a sufferer and never found parenting easy which is why i started my own business to support others.
Where do you all go for support?
Lets share some stories so we all dont feel alone.

Hi there just thought i'd share my story with you.
I gave birth to my daughter Maisy July 06, throughout my pregnancy I was nothing but excited, prepared, organised, I never felt scared over labour, I looked forward to everthing.
The first 6 weeks were wonderful, then Maisy developed colic. It was awful hearing her obviously in pain, and whatever I tried it didn't work, therefore I was completly run down and tearful as I couldn't help my baby, my health visitor wasn't very helpful either, I felt my partner had no patience with either of us and family and friends would think 'why have you had a child when you obviously can't cope'.
When Maisy was 4 months old, my dad who had been ill since she was born was diagnosed with secondary liver cancer. He was put on high calorie shakes to build some strength up to start chemo, but needed so much morphine to keep the pain at bay, his kidneys failed and he pasy away 3 weeks after being diagnosed. The primary source was never found.
My mum, brother and myself were with him when he passed.
I took this very hard and continued to bully myself over things I have done in my life I consider he didn't approve of. I have withdrawn from friends and tell people i'm ok when i'm not.
My partner persuaded me to go to the docs, which I found very hard as I blame them partly for not sending my dad for scans sooner, anyway she said I have PND, which has got worse since my dad. I don't talk to anyone about it as everyone else seems to be getting on so well.
I am taking fluoxetine but not feeling any better yet, but after talking to people on here it may take a bit longer.
Sorry for this being so long, but I have never told the story to anyone in full and its been good to get it off my chest..

I have a background in nursing & health visiting too, but never thought of turning those skills into a business... great idea! :happy72: How did you find getting business in the early days?
