Budgie his name is alfie, i've had him for a week and he's only 11 weeks old i will post a picture as soon as i get one tonight, he's already letting me stroke him and handle him he's not bitten once

Aww! I used to have a budgie when I was young. Was adamant I wanted a blue one, came back with a green one ... hehe.

I used to have 2 i adored them but my little boy took an allergy to their feathers and i had to give them away.

we used to keep/bread budgies, we had one we kept in the house, Peter. he used to talk. peter piper picked a peck of pickled pepper. :unsure:

yes i've already startd teaching him to speak, how long do you think it takes them to pick it up, he already comes on my hand and lets me and ellie kiss him and stroke him

I would say it takes months to get them to talk, just keep yapping to him...... but watch the bad language because you can guarantee the first word he will say will be one you wish you hadn't said..... think if I had one his first word would be T**t

well a couple of times he's made those funny noises like he wan'ts to talk but nothing yet, i had a bird when i was little and he used to say his name but i can't remember when he started saying it

That sounds just like my brothers parrot - he sings the Eastenders theme tune and shouts bugger - my brothers DP hadn't realised how much she said it until that point :hysterica

It would probably be a far worse word if it was in this house (through me and no one else mind - I really should watch my language)

lol, there was a parrott where i brought alfie and he done a car alarm and kept saying "hello", "alright" it was funny i love parrotts when it comes to talking, alfie sits on my shoulder no but he's got a thing about climbing

He's still doing well, his tail is now growing a lot more and as yet still no words but he still chats a lot in bird language

Arn't birds great? I've got 2 cockatiels and I wouldn't give them up for the world. They can't talk (yet), but that makes no difference to me.
