Well I've Done It

I've delivered my stuff to the Surrey Arts and Crafts Guild Gallery shop in Milford. Its inspection day tomorow so I just have to wait and see if my stuff is good enough to get in. I know it my stuff is good, I'm good at doing it and it's good quality but the stuff I've seen in the gallery shop is excellent.
They have a rack of cards there too and there is nothing like mine at all, and I think mine are very good so I'm hopeful, I just hope my jewellery doens' let me down.

I'm at the Darwins-Reject household right now which is half way between there and me, waiting for the traffic to die down as it's rush hour right now.

Keep your fingers crossed for me, it's really important to me purely on a personal level to get into the guild, would be great to show my Mum that actually I am very good at this too.

Thanks everyone. Its more a personal thing than anything else, it wont really do anything for business as I can't actually afford to sell my items in their shop as you have to pay a couple of hundred pounds a year to do so and I don't have that much money, but it will just be nice to know I was accepted into it. Think I can put their emblem onto my site and cards too if I'm a member so I suppose that's good.

I don't know how long it takes to find out if you've passed the grade or not, will be very embarrassed tellling you if I've failed, but there you are, you are all so friendly that I know I can tell you if I don't.

Well pwwwthhrrrooouuu to them (sorry, that was me trying to blow a raspberry!!!!) I have bought your jewellery and it is FAB!! - and your cards are really gorgeous - you did me a christening card for a friend and it was so beautiful I actually didn't want to give it to them!! - they loved it so much they framed it and have it on their fireplace in their living room.

right, your items might not be how they want them, but you know what these places are like. I know how much you wanted it, i cant take away the hurt, pain and upset, but i can tell it to you how i see it.
I would far rather do business with you as i know how friendly and aproachable you are and i know that when i DO buy from you i buy with security knowing that what i am getting is far better than i hope for, its amazing how lovely you are and i have NEVER EVER been disappointed. There is no way that i would have worn jewelery on my wedding day that wasnt perfect in every way. There is no way that i would send your items to friends and family for birthdays, anniversaries and other special occasions.
EVERYONE commented on how wonderful the invitations were, everyone commented on the wedding favours.

Kate you may not be surrey guild kind of woman, but you are mine! I think your items are amzing, i love your stuff, im a huge fan, and even more than your stuff im a huge fan of you.

SO i know that you are feeling poo, and i understand and appreciate that, but its their loss, and at the end of the day hunni i would rather you were you and did "your thing" than tried to "fit in" to what they wanted..

In all honesty you will grow and learn from this. What they may not want right now is not the same as say in 6 months or a year. By then your skills will have grown greatly and it may then be the perfect time to resubmit them. I have had so many fallbacks and kicks in the teeth with my products and artwork and it is so so upsetting but honestly I have become stronger to the criticism I often recieve and as long as I still have customers that is what matters.

I hope that doesnt sound patronising I am really trying to help you see through it. I know it is hard and hurtful when someone is so critical and rude about the things yu have worked so for, but take it upon yourself to grow and move on from this and things will become much stronger better.

Next week is another week and something good will happen to you then to compensate for the two knock backs you've had this week.
