We have had 4 fish in 4 weeks...all dead...got 2 now covered in white spot...bought the white spot treatment...1 is nearly dead
Its driving me mad...fish are supposed to relaxing and stress free pets..not in my house
I dont know if i should...start a fresh and give everything ANOTHER good clean and get new fish..or just give up

i must admit i gave up dp brought his fish round here and with un weeks they died he still blames me, got more fish and they died so the tank is in the shed
We've just had 5 of our fish die :( including my favourate "Shark" cryingsmil
That was all down to white spot ... we had bought 3 new fish for dd as she loves to watch them .. we got them from Pets at home .... within a week most our fish had white spot. DP has written Pets at home a letter as we're sure they new fish must have already been infected.

It could be the water, how long did you leave the tank set up before you put in new fish? It normally takes about 3 days to a week for it to become safe to put fish in as the good bacteria has to build up in the tank before it works properly, Take a little water in a pot into your local pet shop so they can test nitraite and ph levels, white spot is caused by the fish being stressed, bad water quality and a fluctuation in temperature. When mine got that i used interpetant white spot plus, and it worked fatastic, also did you use water conditioner in the water? I also use a product called Nutrafin Cucle its a powerful biological suppliment which rapidly matures new aquariums and filters, I use it ever water change (25% water chance once every 2 weeks). Keeping fish is not as easy as everyone thinks, There is a big difference from goldfish in a bowl. lol I hope it all sorts itself out, They are relaxing once you get the hang of it hun. anymore advice just ask, im happy to help. xxx

Hi Debbie,
I was just wondering if you have had your water tested? Most places do it for free. Just take a sample of your water in and they will let you know if there is anything wrong.

Hi
i am using interpet anti white spot plus at the moment.
I didnt know about things to go in the water until i joined a fish keeping site last night...so i have been and bought some anti stress, some tap safe for and some stuff to get rid of the chlorine.
I only let the tank run for a few hours before i put the fish in...the water i put in i had let it satnd for 24 hours too.
I didnt know i had to do this water testing just for goldfish :cheesy: i though it was just for tropicals.
One fish i have had for a few weeks seems to be ok..his tail is covered in white spots...but my other fish has crawled under an ornament, and only comes out for food. It doesnt look good that one.
