Anybody been to see this yet?

Two women I work with took their children this weekend and they (the mums) said it was weird and they didn't enjoy it.

This film has had rave reviews in the press and I was planning on taking my two sons to see it later this week.

Should I go?

Im thinking of taking mine to see this as well. Thought it looked good from the ads that I have seen but I guess thats no reflection of the overal movie. Did they say what made it strange? Maybe its just because its different to the original?

I'm busting a gut to see it but won't be able to until it comes out on video. I love all Johnny Depp Films and apart from Platet of the Apes (what happened there?) I think Tim Burton is superb, I love his sense of humour and ideas.

I should imagine that it will be wierd with those two - look at all thier other projects!!

Ive only seen the clips but also think it looks weird.

Johnny Depp as Willy Wonka makes my skin crawl :o

I'm wondering if my 6 year old dd will be frightened by it, I can't wait to see it though.

Oh great, I am definitely go to go and see it with the girls next week then. Do you think a 3 year old would be scared or interested angel or wrong type of film?

Just back from seeing it. I thought it was OK. It could have been more magical and less weird but hey ho. Joe loved it though, he is 4 and wasn't at all scared. It isn't frightening imo!

We are planning on taking Robbie and Austin at the weekend. Me and Chris can't wait. We are acting more like kids than the kids are about going to see it. :hysterical3:

I really love the Gene Wilder one though :happy72:

"goes everwere singing Willy Wonka( a song off it)." - a catchy and annoying song isn't it Bm. even the kids who appeared in it said that it was catchy and annoying.

took the kids to see it otoday and we all loved it.

Madam prefered ot to the original so will have to get it on dvd when it is out.

Caught it the other week, not what I was expecting. But I really liked it. My DD (6) loved it too. I think its very dark compared to the original film, but in many ways the book is too.

If only my DD would go to see Herbie with me :(
