Painting

After a bout of severe depression I have decided to start up painting again. I used to paint when I was younger but as you get married and have kids it seems to go out of the window.

Well I'm trying to get up a collection of equipment etc and a selection of canvasses. DH is keeping an eye on ebay at the moment LOL.

It's been really quite funny as depending on my mood depends on how many paintings I do. So a bad day may equate to a 2 painting day and a good day equals a 0 painting day. :cheesy:

Having said that, I am really finding it beneficial and relaxing. I can now understand why people do art therapy..

Is there any other painters/artists out there in the matrix????

I wish i could paint as I'd love to do something like that as a pass time and be good at it.

Good luck with your paintings. I paint and I love it. I am selling them too which is nice. I know what you mean about therapy, it is very theraputic but I can't do it during the day as the children want to 'help'

wow they are amazing, you are so talented. Do you sell?

I cant paint or draw but tonight I was colouring in Jakes colouring book (oh the shame) but it was so relaxing so I know where you are coming from, but you should do it more than just for relaxing you shouldnt hide that talent

I also suffer depression so know a hobby to take your mind of problems is a god send

Thanks for the vote of confidence x x the thing is that I haven't got the confidence to sell them - I personally don't think that they are good enough for people to pay hard earned cash for them, seeing as I do it for my benefit IYSWIM.

Hopefully I will get better and improve and gain that self-esteem to be able to sell them but at the moment I would feel as though I would be cheating someone out of their money. Sad I know but the one thing about me is that I am a perfectionist and I would want someone to have a quality painting.

You never know they may become masterpieces when I die LOL

they are brilliant.

Our local library displays artwork by non pros kwim and they can sell them via the library so you see all sorts of levels and yours is very very good, I'm sure they would sell.

Its nice to have something you enjoy like that, I'm useless
