We promised DD that we would take her to the safari park at the weekend. Planned on going to Woburn and then staying over at a hotel etc. So we go off on Saturday morning and turn up only to find it shut due to Foot and Mouth! Hadn't even thought about that when watching the news!! The guy at the gate was really nice and told us that Gullivers Land Theme Park was just up the road so we headed off there instead.
We had a lovely day. DD enjoyed going on the rides etc. After a little persuasion we took her on the log flume which she loved - daddy sat at the front and got very very wet and we sat behind getting a bit (quit a lot!) wet too!! She thought it was ever so funny! We went on loads more too which was nice and then we went back to the hotel and went swimming!
So, although things didn't go according to plan, we still had a lovely weekend :happy72:

lol..sounds great.. my ds would never go on any rides like that. his acheivment this week is goign on the kiddies bikes AND putting pennies in so they move :cheesy:
wheres Woburn then? is it Somerset?

DD won't go on the rides where you put money in and they move! They scare the living daylights out of her!!! She likes to sit on them when they are still, but as soon as they start to move she jumps of crying!! Think she is ok with the other ones as we are on there with her! She won't do them alone, bless her!

glad you had a fab time babes and Poppy enjoyed her self. Hope Rob soon dried off I always make Gary go at the front too so he gets most wet:happy72:

shame about the zoo but how fab you had a back up close by...

sounds lovely, my eldest dd won't go on anything but the younger one is a daredevil and cries if she is too short for the rides...even the big ones i wouldn't go on!!! glad you had a good day anyway hun x x x

Sounds like you all had a great day, even though it wasn't the original plan. Can't wait till I can go back on rides like that again
