hi,i am a new member

mum of three,8,5,and 5 wks.

my question is:

my neighbour is due next wk and is on maternity allowance as she had not worked for her employer long enough to get maternity pay.
she has been offered early redundancy or relocate 60 miles.
will redundancy effect her allowance.

Tell her to contact her benefits office on Monday but I don't think so - MA comes from the benefits office and depends on work done up to maternity leave, so it isn't dependant on an employer. Hope she gets it sorted.

she has till monday to tell her employer what she wants to do,and asked if i could help her,i will get her to ring first thing monday

cant she get MA off through benifits? I read somewhere if you not worked long enough for an employer you still get the same benifit just not through work
