ditto

I've had about 4 different avon reps leaving me catalogues this year alone as they don't last long and give up

do you do well out of it?

I was an Avon rep for 7 years - I met some lovely people and it got me out after I had had dd1.

I gave it up to do Kiddymania instead.

How long have you been doing it?

I have been doing it now since november last. I was just building up my business nicely but broke my leg so have been housebound for almost three months - so no avon at the moment.
Most of my orders are from where I work and I do get quite good orders most campaigns. Might take a bit of building back up again though.
Was thinking about maybe doing my road (if its available) but am a bit scared of commiting to it. It would take an awful lot of books to cover I assume and they are not cheap now. Just wanted to pick someones brains to see if they think it would be worthwhile?

I had about 150 customers and did pretty well at it, but it got to the point where I couldn't commit to a big round as the girls got older and didn't want to come with me. It ended up a battle everytime I had to go out.

I do miss it though, and the people.....was a fab way of excercising too!!!

The Presidents club dinners are .....interesting......but there is a lot of back biting and I didn't like that,

PS if you get enough sales to get in the presidents club they do offers on brochures......of they did. I always ordered in 100 and it was worth is. My monthly average sales was around £500 or more at Christmas.

I put a note in with my books the first time I did a road and if people weren't interested I never went back. I built up a round of customers and you would be surprised at how many order every time!!

Also not being funny, but if your road is full of terraces and semis it seems to work better than the bigger houses.

Thanks Judith. They are all semis so that's ok. I do have a feeling that if I stuck to it I might do ok. And I do like the thought of the exercise bit too.
Did you have any problems with people not paying or anything like that?

Hi

No never. People always paid when I delivered and if they didn't have any money at that time I would go back another time. I only left orders if I knew them....which you will get to know over time.

I had one lady bounce a cheque. But she had paid out of the wrong account and gave me the money straight away when I went round. She was really embarrassed too.

Give it a go, I bet you will enjoy it
