Hi Rob and welcome to the site. Dads are more than welcome. Unfortunately parentszone was already taken when we registered the site but the site is open to mums and dads and I look forward to getting to know a bit about you.

Hi,
glad Dads are welcome, had trouble on another board. Both myself and my OH do (did!) the same sort of job, so the swap was easy from the money side. So we were very lucky. In fact my OH was only going back to do some summer holiday cover for a few weeks between one of my contracts, that was neally 6 years ago! We have one girl who is 7 in August. I hated working, but my OH seems to love it. So we both have jobs we like :D
I would warn any Potental Stay at Home Dads that life can become a bit more complicated that it first seems ;) There's no such thing as spare time and the schools insist on sending the kids home for the holidays ;) So forget about having time to yourself... But that gets replaced with being involved in your kids life on a day to day basis, which is great and thens theres the house work, DIY, more house work, the school run, after school playinns, yet more house work.....
Rob.

Hopefully you will have no trouble here, touchwood, in the time we have been open we have not once had any flare ups, everyone respects we all have different opinions and we all seem to get on very well. I am guessing that maybe you were on one of the larger sites, such as UKP where this happened?
My DH would love to be a house husband as well, although I dont think he realises in reality just how hard it is, added to which his job is too good and I certainly couldnt earn enough to compensate!
I think its great that you and your OH are both happy with it and that it works so well for you both.

Hi Rob, welcome to the site!
My dh is going to get a taste of stay at home parenting in a couple of weeks, I've just started back to work but our childminder's off on holiday for a week so he's taking time off to look after our 2 yo dd, I think he'll love it especially as madam is a real daddy's girl!
Well, I'm Colette and as well as our 2 yo I'm expecting no. 2 in the new year, we all live in Northern Ireland.
Hope to see you on again soon.
