We had to make an emergency visit to the vets last night.

Fidget our mummy cat who is only 22 months old. Seemed to be having major problems with her balance, she cant walk straight, her eyes are flicking side to side and she is not eating.

Anyway vet checked her over, no temperature, heart sounds ok, ears are clear. He hopes it is an inner ear infection/virus, and gave her two injections and we have tablets to continue the course.

But he did say he hadnt ever seen this in a cat so young, and it may be a problem with her brain. If it is an infection we should give it two weeks to go. If she gets worse or it has not cleared up after the two weeks, he will do further investigations.

Fingers crossed, it will clear up soon and she will be feeling loads better

Has she been out and been knocked by a car or kids etc, wondering if she has slight concussion.

We only got her back from the cattery on Sunday PM. She is a very quiet sort of cat, who stays in every night. The vet checked her over for any sign that she had been hit by a car or kicked really hard. He couldnt find anything.
She hasnt eaten or drunk a thing today, i am so worried about her

Still no improvement today. Having major problems trying to get her anti-biotics in, we really have to pin her down and be a bit brutal. She wont eat them hidden in food, we have already tried that. Any suggestions, gratefully recieved

I also have 3 cats, this is the mother who is poorly, and we kept her two kittens. The 10 month old kittens are much bigger than their mother

Hiya hun again, what I did when my cat needed pills, was to buy paste, as in sandwich paste, she liked the fishy kind, or your cat might fancy the beef or another flavour?
I tried tins of baby food, sweet and savoury , anything I culd lay my hands on that was soft, and wrapped or better still, crushed the pill in it.

She is eating and acting loads better, she still walks with her head tilted though, but much more like her old self.
