Has anyone attended any of the free Business Link workshops like these ones:

Yes I have been on a few BL seminars, mostly IT based ones, but some on customer service too.

They're usually very good.

No I want to but they are hard to get to because I don't drive and are always at an a time when I couldn't make it which is a shame.

I'd go though if you can, business link is usually really helpful.

I was looking at one of the 'make a proper start' ones, but its been on my to do list for months now!!

Which were you thinking of doing Chell?

Its more a case of what ones are the day I can get a baby sitter than which I would like to do.

The book keeping would be good or the business planning. I think this type of thing might help me build my confidence a little.

I did a specific Women into Business course which was great and brought a few customers too. Check if your BL run similar courses. My childcare was funded at the time.

I attended a free 2-day seminar on starting your own business, and it was excellent.

(Not in relation to this business though, I have to add, as it was about 7 years ago.)

That's interesting to hear. I get emailed them all the time, but haven't really considered going mostly because they were in london. I'll look out for some in my area. Although my childcare wouldn't be funded so I'd have to wait until my youngest is in school full time.

It is a great networking opportunity as much as anything. I met a guy starting out in creative design who did my logo for free :happy72:
