Hi All
I am thinking of learning to play a musical instrument. I would love to try the saxophone but currently cannot afford to do so. Hubby has a lovely guitar sitting doing nothing so thought I may have a go at that.

Anyone here play an instrument?? What's your fav??

I learnt tot play the violin at school, but gave it up after 3/4 years as I didnt enjoy it.

DS tried the Guitar but he didnt enjoy doing it either.

DD keeps asking to learn but she has the attention span of a goldfish and Im sure she would lose interest even faster.

Its something you really have to want to do, a calling

Go for the guitar, see how you get on, what have you got to lose??

Hello

Was really into music when I was at school - I wanted to be a music teacher.

I started off playing the clarinet - which I still do occassionally, then went on to the Tenor horn, Cornet (played this in the Rolls Royce Silver Band), Trumpet, then started the piano - which I do still play and love - Oh yes and we musn't forget the crumhorn!!!!!!!

Think that's it!!!!

DH plays just about everything you could mention from trombone and tenor horn down to the Jewis harp, though he doesn't seem to be able to get his lips round my flute. I play saxaphone and flute and would love a clarinet cause if you can play the sax you can pretty much play the clarinet. I'm mostly self taught, starting off with the recorder at school which I admit to being pretty damn good at. Did you know there is a concerto written for the recorder!

DH plays lead guitar and some keyboard in a couple of rock bands locally and is absolutley brilliant at it, even if I am biased.

Kids want to start learning to play, ds has just got a guitar and ds wants to play flute though I'm not sure if she is physically big enough for it yet, might start her on the recorder and violin as the recorder is a brilliant thing to start with. (they also both know the first bit of Rhapsody in Blue on the piano LOL)

I dont play any , not very musical, I could never keep up in recorder class at school!

Dh however has taught himself basic piano, he plays guitar and bass too, he used to be in a band before family commitments became to much. SHame now as they were pretty good, looking for a contract and all!
(mind you they all are aren't they!!)

ds1 thinks he might like to try the guitar.

I play piano, violin, viola, sax and flute.

When we can afford to get a bigger house we are going to have a piano (we actually already have it as someone at DH's work was giving one away free, but it is at my parents as they have the room) as I'd like DS to learn. I play violin in an orchestra at work and got a new violin for Christmas last year - it is gorgeous!

Flute I only started teaching myself very recently so I'm not brilliant at that!

I play a few instruments, main ones being violin and viola. My piano playing has come on in leaps and bounds as I provide the music at school for productions etc.

Well my girls have bought learnt keyboard and recorder so far and now they are on to guitar which they love and I think I will have to get them to teach me that as its something I have always wanted to play.

I play the clarinet, flute and piano. I used to be in a local wind band but these days don't have as much time with the kids and animals so I just accompany the girls when the two younger ones practise (one plays the flute and I am teacher the youngest the clarinet).
